Just a drabble. I was inspired by feeling trapped at school, standing by the window during a free class, saw a fly, and was inspired. Yes I know I'm odd.
Temporary Escape
I'm staring out the window with nothing to do. People walk by waving and bidding hello to people they pass by. They're happy with smiles on their faces, ignorant to my loss.
I've lost my best friend, my guardian, my godfather.
Sirius Black is dead because I made the choice to follow a vision I saw of him being tortured. I went to where he was and he wasn't there. I had been set up. The Death Eaters wanted a prophecy, which they almost got.
A fight ensued during which Sirius was pushed through the Veil. And it killed him.
I killed him by trying to save him!
Remus says that he doesn't blame me, but I'm sure he does. I killed his last childhood and possibly best friend.
There was no funeral for closure – there was no body for one.
There is a fly trying to escape out the closed window.
I must be going crazy because I say to it, "You're trapped too, eh?"
Then I somehow feel compassion for the fly and open the window. It leaves me and I wish someone would free me as well.
In the distance I see Hedwig. She flies through the now open window and drops a letter in my lap.
It's from Hogwarts.
But it's too soon for the school letters to come.
I open it.
Dumbledore will be coming to release me from my 'prison,' my personal hell.
I will be free until next summer.
