The sounds of a heart monitor beeped, monitoring the vital signs of a pale 20-year-old girl. The girl slept under the influence of anesthetic. An oxygen mask strapped to her face helping to breathe and encouraging her to live. Numerous tube and needles were stuck into her arms. Bandages too were wrapped around her stomach and arms and her legs underneath the blanket. By her side a boy of 21 sat in a chair in hopes that she would wake up soon. Tears were lingering on his eyes, visible to anyone else but not yet falling.
A girl of 21 enters the room. 'Any change yet Syaoran-kun?' the girl asks. He shakes his head. He says solemnly 'This was my fault, Tomoyo, I should never have asked her to go get the things for me. If I hadn't then she wouldn't be in this state.' 'Nonsense Syaoran-kun' she said in a gentle voice, 'it wasn't your fault and never will be. It was the fool of a person that ran into her.' 'But I was the one that asked her to go' 'Sakura would never want you to feel this way and that's final' He sighs.
'Have you called her dad and brother yet,' he questions? 'Her otou-san is off on a excavation so the signal doesn't reach his mobile (cell) phone and her onni-chan is in Oxford studying. Where is she going to stay when she get released because I know you're not going to let her stay by herself when she's out.?' 'She's going to stay with me at my small house until she gets better.'
In a few minutes a panting blue-haired boy comes rushing in. He stood crouched over to regain his breath a little before pulling up a seat next to Syaoran. 'How is she?' 'In the same state as when I called you.' Replied his girlfriend of 3 years. There was a moment of silence except for the constant beeping the machines. 'She was the baby of all of us you know' Tomoyo said with tears in her eyes, 'her birthday is next month. I couldn't live to know that she never made it to her 21st birthday.' 'Don't talk like that Tomoyo' Eriol said is a stern yet calm voice 'she's strong and she will pull through' 'Excuse me' and with that she left the room. 'Be strong for Sakura, Syaoran-kun, it during this time of need the she'll need the most. Now you must excuse me while I go and find Tomoyo' He too left the room.
This left Syaoran alone in the room, with the unconscious figure of Sakura. Please Sakura you must survive through this for me and everyone else. I'm lost without you. I will blame myself if you die.
As if God was answering his prayer a groan was heard. He looked up. Sakura was stirring. He still had her hand in his and as if sensing his aura she turned her head to the right. 'Sy..ao..ran?' she said in raspy voice. He nodded because right at that moment he couldn't trust his voice. 'Where.am.I? .why.are.you.cr.ying?' 'Because I'm so happy that you're awake.' He said finally finding his voice. He gave her a hug. When he did this she flinched in pain and he saw this and panicked. 'What wrong Saki- chan? Did I hurt you? Are you okay?' 'Why.does.it.hurt so.much?' she whimpered with tears in her eyes 'and.why.can't I.feel.my legs.?'
