Gold was, without a doubt, the most stubborn person Silver had ever met. He refused to take no for an answer. Considering that no was Silver's default response to anything Gold had to say and that Gold had a lot to say, the red-haired trainer found this to be especially annoying. Gold had once complained that Silver was stubborn. But if he was the stubborn one, how come it was always Silver who caved in?
It was that impossibly stubborn nature of Gold's that led to this current situation. Granted... it wasn't all that bad.
"You're tugging again," Silver remarked dryly, taking another piece of candy from the bag in his lap and popping it into his mouth. When the tugging ceased, Silver's eyes fell closed again.
"Sorry, sorry!" Gold laughed, and Silver reminded himself that the sound was annoying.
"If you're sorry, then don't do it." Not that Gold's apologies actually meant anything. They were just words, empty words that were supposed to placate him or something. "Are you done yet?"
"Relax, Silver!" He didn't have to look at Gold to know that he must be wearing that broad smile of his. A pair of arms wrapped around him, and Silver did the exact opposite of what had been requested. "You already promised you would stay overnight!" Silver didn't answer, focusing his gaze on the brush Gold held in one hand. Eventually, Gold released him and returned to brushing out the ruby red locks. "I'm almost done."
Silver took another piece of candy from the bag. "Fine..." Popping the candy into his mouth, Silver's gaze now focused itself firmly on the wood floor in front of him. Silence fell over the room, a rarity in Gold's presence, and Silver didn't dare break it. It was broken five minutes later when a snapping sound caused Silver to jump.
"Relax!" That word again... "It's just a hair clip!" Silver scowled. Why did Gold have hair clips in the first place? Frowning, Silver closed his eyes. This was stupid. What was Gold doing to his hair anyway? Well, he was going to find out, it seemed, as Gold sat back and happily spoke up. "Done!"
Moving the candy from his lap, Silver got to his feet. He didn't say a word to Gold, moving over to a mirror to look at his reflection. After a few moments of examination, he turned to Gold. "I look like a girl." The grin Gold wore annoyed Silver. If he knew better, he wouldn't open his big mouth...
"Don't you always?"
"Shut up." Gold cringed when Silver walked past, expecting physical retaliation. Silver did nothing, flopping down onto the room's single bed with a sigh. "I'm sleeping here."
"I'm not sleeping on the floor!"
"Didn't you mention a spare bedroom?"
"But it's my room!"
Silver ignored the complaint, closing his eyes as he stretched out across the bed. Feeling the bed dip with the weight of a second person, Silver crumbled into the pillow his head rested on. "Get off, Gold."
Gold shifted, managing to settle himself in an open space. "I'm not Gold," he murmured, grinning. "I'm Sneasel."
"…" Silver sighed. Well, maybe he could play along... just tonight. "You've gained weight." He shifted, lying on his side with his back to "Sneasel". "I'm going to sleep. Turn off the lights."
When Gold returned to the bed, Silver didn't push him away. After all, as long as it was "Sneasel"... it was okay. At least, it was okay until an arm was draped over him. "You're pushing it."
