A/N: I was inspired by this wonderful gifset: sararye(.)tumblr(.)com/post/24769402929/klaine-au-kurt-is-deeply-in-love-with-his-best and got slightly carried away and wrote this.

He thought he could handle it, seeing Blaine and Rachel together. He thought he couldn't have possibly fallen so hard so fast. It was a just a crush, just a pathetic unrequited crush based off one touching moment and a song that made him swoon.

Kurt sank down lower in his chair desperately trying not to focus on watching Blaine make heart eyes at Rachel. Rachel of all people! How had this happened? He should be the one up there singing with Blaine and dancing around being all cheesy and cute making the rest of glee club want to barf because they were so sweet together but instead he was sitting in the back of the room desperately trying not to let it get to him that Blaine was with Rachel and failing miserably.

They were sickening to watch really, it was so hard to doubt the love between them and it killed Kurt. All he wanted was to hold Blaine's hand and be able to kiss him whenever he wanted or just have someone he could call his. But no. Ms Rachel Berry got everything and usually he was fine with it but why did it have to be Blaine?

It all started because of that stupid drunken kiss. He never should have taken Blaine to her house in the first place. But he hadn't been thinking very well clearly, he had thought Blaine liked him and there was no way Rachel and Blaine would get together. Well, obviously he'd been proven wrong.

Now because one dumb, drunken kiss had turned out to be more he had to sit in the choir room every day and watch his crush and his best friend be together and act like it wasn't killing him on the inside. Today though, watching them twirl around and be happy it was too much. He couldn't handle it. As soon as they finished the song he ran.

He couldn't think, couldn't focus, he just wanted to get away. He physically couldn't be around them for a second longer and keep pretending like it didn't break his heart to watch Blaine singing Teenage Dream to Rachel – it was their song, it meant more to him than anyone would ever understand and to have to watch it change into Blaine and Rachel's song was something Kurt wasn't prepared to deal with.

So as soon as the opportunity presented itself he grabbed his bag and ran. He couldn't even be bothered to come up with an excuse or reply to the voices that shouted out to him. He just needed to focus on not falling apart right that second. He needed to get to his car and it would all be okay, he could break down later but not while he was still at school. He couldn't be weak in front of them.

Before he could make it to his car though, a hand reached out and pushed him to the ground. He was in such a mess that he hadn't heard someone coming after him nor had he noticed the car racing towards him, the car he had just been saved from. He couldn't process anything other than the hand that had saved him, the hand that was still protectively wrapped around him.

He turned and came face to face with Blaine.

He couldn't think of any words, he didn't know what to say. He was shaking and then all of a sudden there was Blaine helping him up and staring at him with an unreadable expression on his face.

Blaine seemed to be contemplating something and then before Kurt had a chance to formulate any words Blaine reached out and pulled him close and kissed him.
