Cherry Blossoms

"I promise I will make you fall in love with me."

***

Another blind spot appeared through the front of my helmet as I raced down the street on my motorcycle. The damn cherry blossom petals were flying everywhere again. They were so annoying, but I still liked to see them because they reminded me of someone: soft, delicate, pink. I stopped across the street from the park, and took off my helmet. Right away, the wind picked up and about thirty more petals slapped onto the side of my face. Oh, so annoying. The wind was strong, like it was trying to push me.

I hadn't been to this park in years…I haven't been in this country for years. I found my old bench, by pure instinct and sat down with a sigh. That plane ride had tired me out, not to mention my crazy sister's non-stop calling. I had to keep myself from falling asleep; I wasn't used to the peace anymore. I opened my eyes and more petals swooped down, sending a sweet fragrance all around me. Yoru loved to chase the petals, I smiled softly. He had disappeared a long time ago.

The petals swirled again, but no matter how many times I looked I couldn't make sense of it. It looked like they were pointing for me. Like they were trying to lead me somewhere. After a while, I got curious and followed the path that a pile had accumulated on. Why this park had so many of those god-forsaken trees, I'll never know. I walked down the familiar path. I was still half cat, I'm not sure if that was a good thing or bad, but the trips I made here helped me remember where I was going: by remembering the trees I'd slept in. I stopped dead as I made it into a bigger intersection.

Petals swirled and the scent almost knocked me out. It wasn't just them though, it smelled like strawberries, extremely intoxicating strawberries. There was something black and purple near the fountain, but I couldn't make much of it out. Then I noticed the long pink ribbons of hair that swirled in the wind with the petals, the tan skin, and slender body that were all too familiar.

"Ikuto?" She asked softly, which snapped me out of my little world and I noticed she was looking at me. I just stared at her. Her eyes were sharper, her body curvier, and her breasts bigger, I smirked.

"Well, look at this," I said quietly, "my little kitten seems to have grown up while I was away." I "pouted" and she giggled. The next thing I knew, she was running and hugging me in a nanosecond. Of course I took full advantage of the situation- holding her tightly and breathing in that intoxicating scent.

"I missed you." She said softly. I smiled.

Her hand was small in mine; it tugged on my fingers softly. I looked down into her blue eyes, probably the only thing she inherited from me. I could tell from looking at her that she was going to look exactly like her mother. I didn't mind that at all. She reached up and grabbed my chin again, and I chuckled, I had never really been a baby-person…well, until I had one of my own.

Her mother, still tired from the delivery, lay on the coach, watching me, a big grin plastered on her face. "That child's never going to have a boyfriend is she?"

"Not until I'm dead." I said still mesmerized by the little angel cradled in my arms. She laughed softly. I walked over and sat under her, giving her the baby. It seems everything did work out.

"Amu?"

"Hm?"

I smirked. "I'm gonna want another one ASAP." She rolled her eyes at me and we kissed again, while our baby pulled at her mama's hair. There was no need for that, though, she's going to have the same hair soon, anyway.
