Noah always enjoyed knowing that no one else could shut her up like he could. Not that anyone else was even allowed to attempt to try. They wouldn't be alive much longer and, luckily enough, they all seemed to realize it.

The first time he did it, it took Rachel completely by surprise. She was getting comfortable while he popped Chicago into the DVD player and went to get popcorn. He sat next to her and pulled some of the blanket she had on herself onto him. She snuggled close to him and he put his arm around her, putting the bowl of popcorn between them. The movie started playing and it was enjoyable, that is, until…

"I really love this movie," Rachel started, something Noah had heard a million times over. "It was one of the first movie musicals I saw, which I now realize, in hindsight, probably wasn't the best movie for a nine-year-old to see, but I'd heard how good it was and you know me with musi-."

She never finished her sentence as her lips were now preoccupied with something a bit more pleasing than talking.

The kiss didn't last especially long and when he pulled away, he could tell that she hadn't been ready for it at all.

"The movie's starting, Babe," he said simply. He turned to watch the screen again, but could tell she was staring at him. He couldn't help but smirk at this, especially when she snuggled closer to him.

The best part? She didn't even start talking again. It was then he knew, he'd found a quick and effective way to keep her from rambling on and on.

He really didn't mind the talking, mind you. He found it kind of cute, really, but even he had his limits. And talking during a movie happened to be one of them.

She would learn about the others and everytime he would effectively quiet her down, using the same method. (Sometimes she would talk a little extra, just to get him to kiss her.) The "list of limits", as she deemed it, included: talking during a movie, talking too much during their "alone time", and talking too much to any guy he deemed a possible threat (which seemed to be all of them, most of the time).

Sometimes, it was a chaste kiss, like the first time, and sometimes, it was a much more passionate kiss (usually when it was the last one on the list). They would never admit it to each other, but the passionate ones were each of their favorites.

Yeah, Noah thought, lying next to Rachel on her bed after a rather intense session of shutting up. I could definitely get used to this.

He didn't know it, but Rachel was thinking the exact same thing.

Fin.
