They had me tied to a chair. I didn't know their names and I never saw their faces. They tightly tied the ropes to the point of pain.

There were two men that had captured us, my boyfriend and I, and once they were certain that we could not escape the shorter of the two left the room, slamming the metal door behind him. The other man stayed and paced back and forth in silence.

Neither Zack nor I dared to speak.

Finally the man turned toward us and glared directly at Zack. "The necklace. Where is it?" he asked.

"I don't know, man. Honestly, I don't," Zack said

"You're lying!" the man yelled. "That necklace belongs to the Immortal Royals. It holds immense power. You stole it. Now, tell me where it is!"

"Immortals?" I asked. "Like…vampires?"

Zack slightly glanced in my direction and nodded. The man didn't even seem to realize that I'd spoken.

"Just tell me where the goddamned necklace is and you get to live. Lie to me again and I will rip her throat out and make you watch her life slip away," the man said.

Zack gave a frustrated sigh. "I don't know where the fucking necklace is!" he yelled. The man shook his head and chuckled and evil chuckle before walking over to me. He grabbed my throat and began to squeeze. My eyes widened as he cut off my air supply.

"NO! LET HER GO! I'LL KILL YOU! I SWEAR TO GOD, I'LL KILL YOU!" Zack screamed as he struggled against his restraints. "RACHEL!"

"WHERE IS THE NECKLACE?" the man hollered.

Zack didn't say anything and the man's grip on my throat tightened. I was beginning to see spots.

"Fine," Zack said finally. "I'll tell you, but you have to let her go first."

The man thought about that for a minute, and then slowly released me. I coughed and breathed in as much air as I could.

"It's hidden under the floor boards in my bedroom," Zack said. The man walked over to the window that looked out at the night. He was facing away from us so I couldn't see what he pulled out of his front jacket pocket, but I could guess. And sure enough, when he turned around he had a gun in his hand and pointed it at me.

"You're lying to me again, Zackary," he said. "I'm going to count to three, and if you haven't told me where the necklace really is by then, well, I'm afraid little Rachel will become one of us by tomorrow night. And you know I'll do it, too."

"I've told you where it really is! I swear that's where I stashed it!" Zack shouted.

The man shook his head and fired the gun. I heard the shot before I actually felt it. But when the bullet entered my shoulder I screamed and shrieked a long string of profanities that would make even a sailor blush.

"RACHEL!" Zack yelled. "I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU! YOU COCKSUCKING MOTHER FUCKER, I SWEAR I WILL KILL YOU!"

"No, you won't," the man said and then turned the gun on Zack and shot him point blank in the chest. I watched as the life slowly left Zack's eyes.

"NO! NO! NO!" I shrieked and struggled against the ropes.

I was still shrieking when my life was ended.
