"Please! You have to believe me!" Raven sobbed through the glass, her pleading gaze begged me to let her out. I couldn't help it; I put my hand on the glass and stared back into those violet eyes. "I believe you." I whispered. Her eyes softened and she placed her hand parallel to mine on the other side of the glass. "I'm so sorry." She whimpered "I had to leave. I couldn't live with him anymore! Not after what he said to me." I sighed and closed my eyes. She could still read me like a book. Quickly ending the subject, I walked to the door of the interrogation room and tried to regain my composure before entering the room. I opened the door and came face to face with my ex-fiancé. "You can call me Changeling, by the way." I said as I walked around her and pulled a chair out for her to sit down. "I still prefer Gar. Thank you." she said and sat down with a small smile. "Same old raven." I said with a laugh as I sat down across the table from her. "So tell me why you did it." I said getting down to the point. Her smile fell, my heart broke, and she stood up as her eyes started to water. "I told you already!" She screamed at me. I swallowed hard when I saw that her eyes went from sad and watery to four red slits that could stop the devil himself in his tracks. "They have Melvin." Raven said. After about five seconds she looked away. "And they have my son." My eyes widened and I gripped the bottom of the steel table so hard that it bent. "Your what?" I asked, barely able to keep from breaking down and crying. "My son. His name is David G. Roth and he is the most beautiful boy in the world." As hurt as I was, I watched as she started to cry and I felt like it was my fault. I got up and wrapped her in a hug. "I'll help you get him back." I whispered into her hair. We stood there, wrapped in each other's embrace for what seemed like an eternity. It felt so good to have her in my arms again; her scent was intoxicating, her touch could make me melt. Our bodies just seemed to be made for each other's. "Let's go." I said when we finally let go. I grabbed her hand and I charged out the door. "Can you teleport us out?" I asked as I scanned the hallways for anyone who might be lurking. She looked at me and bit her bottom lip. "Uh-oh. What did you do? Raven?" She moved a few feet to the left and revealed two kids standing behind her. "Tommy? Teether? What are you two doing here? I'm so confused!" I whispered as I looked frantically between the three of them. Tommy and Teether giggled and Raven grabbed my hand. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos." Those familiar words caused a black aura to surround us and send us to a beach near mount Olympus.
