I ran through the woods leaving my old past behind me. Far behind me. I could hear the vicious yelling of my father as he ran a fair distance behind me, even though I had no idea where I was going I kept running. No way did I want to go back to the whipping and cursing of my father as he treated me as a slave for his own benefit. Twigs roughly brushing against my face and sharp rocks pierced my feet like knives. No matter the pain I was going through I had to just keep running away from that mad house. Soon I was in deep woods and a heavy mist was swirling around me. I could no longer hear my father so now I knew that I was all alone.
Suddenly I could hear twigs snapping around me, and soon I saw two orange glowing eyes on a dark body in front of me. It soon came into my vision as a sleek male wolf. Its head shook to its right as if saying to go that way. I started to walk and it leads me through the woods. Following the wolf opened up a new way to see the woods. The way it walked and acted was strange, almost like it didn't belong. "Sounds a lot like me" you thought to yourself. Soon a beautiful, clear lake opened up and the mist had disappeared as if someone had vacuumed it away.
The wolf leads me to the edge and stops. The sound of my father's cursing had come back and it sounded closer than ever. The wolf gestured to me again this time towards the lake, like he wanted me to go in. The sound of my father crashing through the under bush was so close I didn't take any chances. I jumped into the surprising warm lake and felt a sensation rush throughout my body. It felt tingly and it itched at my skin. Then the change began. I didn't feel much but the strange feeling of me slipping out of my old skin and into a swift new version. The body of the wolf. As I emerged out the other side I was no longer a wobbly human, I was a slender, strong wolf. A wolf with a new life and a new chance to live a half decent life. I turned my new grey head towards the clearing on the other side of the lake and saw my father standing and staring at me and the other wolves that had appeared next to me and the wolf I had first met. He looked confused and dazzled wondering where I had gone. With another brain, I made a low growl which was enough to scare him off.
The other wolves led my off into the new world of the wolf. You see so many different things in the low lying body of the wolf and I was glad that my old life had been erased and a new one had begun.
