Missie couldn't believe it. This was her wedding day. Her wedding to Willie. The only wedding day that she would ever have.

For her parents, this had come way to quickly. She had had to convince them that she was old enough, mature enough, strong enough for marriage. She had had to convince them that she was no longer their little girl who had to be told what was right and what was wrong.

Even for her, this day had come so soon. Soon, Willie and Missie would be leaving, going to make a home for themselves. Soon, they would leave everything that they knew, that they trusted in, that they believed in and have to make new lives for themselves.

For one fleeting moment, Missie doubted herself. Then, she looked down at Willie as she walked down the steps. This was what she was walking towards. A future with Willie. Kids with Willie. Problems with Willie. Life with Willie. Missie knew that she could handle anything, just as long as she and Willie were together.

Together was such a nice word she thought, as she said "I do."

The two of them kissed. They would now forever be together. One in the same. Married.
