Disclaimer: I don't own Monster Allergy
I'm not dead. I had wanted to do this for something else but it just seemed to fit Monster Allergy better.

She was his everything.
That became clear to him every morning as he got dressed for school and saw the bruises and tried to ignore each ache and pain that had not yet healed. Without her, he was just the weird loner that was allergic to everything and had an over-active imagination.
He hated fighting monsters.
He hated it with a passion. There were many reasons, so many reasons. He poor mother worried about him constantly. He often returned battered and close to broken. But he didn't care about that. She was in danger when he was fighting. Without her, he would be in his safe old house and reading or talking to his grandparents.
He wanted to be normal.
Oh, how he longed to be a normal boy. He would not have to deal with monsters and ghosts. He could have become friends with the kids at school. But it was because he was different that sparked her interest in him and decided to befriend him. Without her, he would not be so odd and be oblivious to what was really around him.
She was his everything.
Nothing else mattered when she was around. He had changed because of her, acted more confident than he was because of her, experienced life for the first time because of her. He would do anything to see her smile and sparkling eyes so full of life and hear her angelic laughter and feel her confident and defiant presence beside him. He would do anything she wanted him to.
So when he saw her run up and listened to her story of strange happenings, he ran inside and grabbed his pack and ran back out to start the journey. Because she was his everything, and without her he was nothing.

Only 297 words, but I wanted it to be short. I was kind of experimenting with a bit of a different style and I didn't want the meaning to be lost by to many words and too detailed of descriptions. I wanted it to a bit simple and it didn't take long to write, maybe fifteen minutes at most.
