When Nightwinds Fly (the Jareth & Sarah version)

In streaks a pair of withered screams
As remnants fall from shattered dreams
Then spirits rise and dance unseen
Upon a floor of moonlight beams

When whistling winds shriek through the trees
The shapes take flight from freezing breeze
But shivers haunt their pitied pleas
Which holds its ground and never flees

Crazed, unknown the weaver flies
And wipes the dampness from his eyes
As through her thoughts this reaper tries
Seduce her soul for last goodbyes

The ripened fruit of lust prevails
Unshaken by her wistful wails
His penetrating gaze impales
She cries out for release and fails

But fiercer still his mind does grope
Hers frayed and torn on shredded rope
As nightwinds fly and stars elope
Away escapes last thoughts of hope.

Crazed, unknown the sleeper cries
And wipes the dampness from her eyes
As in her thoughts this dreamer dies
Escaping from her lips... goodbyes

So then, in streaks this pair of screams
As remnants fall from shattered dreams
The spirits rise and dance unseen
Within masked walls and moonlight beams.
