Stein's foot tapped consistently as he studied his computer screen. He was trying to figure out a way to dissect this information so it would be in easily understandable lessons for the students. It had only been a couple weeks since Asura had escaped, but life had already returned to some state of normalcy. That is, not including the bouts of madness Stein endured…

He took off his glasses and rubbed his temples, reclining in his office chair and letting his head fall back. He wasn't completely shocked to see Medusa (or, at least, his madness made tangible) hovering over him, but the surprise still made him drop his glasses. Medusa's lips curled, "What's the matter, Stein? Having trouble concentrating?" He sighed and sat back up, only to see Medusa's finger on the monitor power button, the screen black. "You know you don't have to make these tedious itineraries if you just played along with the kishen. You could spend the rest of your days learning about the inner workings of whatever—or whoever—you wanted, instead of tutoring some brats. There would be no right or wrong, no one to say you've 'gone too far.'" She slid into his lap like the snake she is, curling one arm around his shoulders.

Stein chuckled, "As much fun as that sounds, I'm even more curious about Asura. I want to see what keeps him ticking." Medusa was tracing the stitches from his forehead to his chin slowly, only half interested in what he was saying, "And if he gets his way, there will be nothing left for me to dissect."

The witch leaned into him, her breasts pressing on his chest and her sultry eyes gazing up at his from below. The madness is pretty convincing from time to time, Stein told himself.

But something was different. There was silence between the two for a while. Usually their banter lasted a couple minutes, and the apparition left after that. But this time it was like she had said all she needed to say, yet she remained.

Medusa broke the silence, "Do you think you'd have to be mad to love a witch?"

Stein's mouth opened to answer, but said nothing. Where did this come from? Sure, Medusa embodied and voiced his evil subconscious, but this has never crossed his mind before. He closed his mouth again when she grinned, but it wasn't her typical snake-like smile. It was something a little more human. No, something a little more… woman.
