Dry Bowser Toadette were sitting with Bowser and Toad, with the latter two being interested in each other as a couple while the other duo were simply good friends. It was a quiet night at the cafe in the booming city of the Moonview Highway, and they were making the most out of just chilling together after a long day of racing around.
"So, how long have you been doing this?" Dry Bowser asked as he took another sip of his cup of tea.
Bowser had his burly yellow scaly hands together. "Oh a while. We just appreciate each other's company."
"But I thought you didn't like each other..." Toadette murmured as she was munching on marshmallows.
Toad moved his hands around. "Hey, look at it this way, there's only so many times you can harbor negativity."
"Well I'm glad that you decided to take your relationship to a better level." Dry Bowser said while brushing back his red hair.
Toad rubbed his white mushroom cap. "Hey, it helps when you're not doing the same stuff you've been part in as a routine for over thirty years."
Toadette slapped her hands on her face. "I can't even begin to imagine how mundane that would be!"
"Trust me, you're better off not even thinking about it." Bowser spoke up as he watched the others entering and exiting the cafe.
As more people came and went, the four continued chatting, until they decided to just enjoy drinking their cups. When ordering their next batch, the conversation started up again, albeit a bit awkward.
"...So what are you two up to?" Bowser growled.
Dry Bowser opened his eyes. "Oh you know, just the usual stuff when we're not forced to race around in karts or play tennis."
"So you're not even doing something like being a host?" Toad questioned.
Toadette was disgusted. "Eww, who wants to have an important non playable role? Being allowed to actually do stuff is more fun!"
"But you were just a host recently-"
"-And that doesn't mean I can't have any say in how I feel about it?"
"I didn't think you would be sick of the traditional task of hosting an old time tradition."
"Let's be real, it's really nothing impressive."
