Attack

A double drabble.

Attack was the best form of defence, so someone once said.

And the perp didn't disagree.

As agents closed in on three sides, expecting to drive him down the narrow path into the arms of backup, Campbell froze momentarily and turned. He barrelled into Cho, the surprise of the attack sending the Asian man flying, before hurtling down the side road.

Sitting alone in the SUV safely away from supposed action, Jane smiled. "Told you he was unpredictable!" Sliding into the driver's seat, he eased the SUV forward to block the road. Just in time for Campbell to slam straight into the side of them, Lisbon appearing close behind him. She skidded to a halt, her hands slapping against the rear door.

Campbell lay on his side groaning and clutching his arm. He wasn't going anywhere so it was unnecessary to cuff him. Lisbon stood guard, one hand steady on her Glock whilst she dialled the paramedics with the other.

"Dammit Jane, what did you do?"

"Nothing, my dear. He attacked the SUV all on his own. Assault on a police vehicle." He pats the steering wheel consolingly. "You poor thing."

"Jackass!"

Cho and Rigsby materialised, keeping their distance.
