Xander smiled at Willow. They'd met up at lunchtime and although Willow still felt hurt, lost and embarrassed over the events of the few previous days, they were trying to be themselves. Xander had made fun of the cafeteria food and Willow had pretended to want to flirt with a cute guy across the room. "So," Xander began. "Buffy says there's hope for me." he grinned.

"She meant as a human being, not as a boyfriend."

"I can dream." he smirked.

"You know Xander," Willow began. "When you think about it, Amy is--"

"Flirting with Harmony."

"What?"

Xander made a strange face and pointed. Willow turned around. Amy was crouched on the ground by Harmony's feet, whispering and petting them. "What's up with that?"

"Another spell?" Xander assumed.

"Doubtful. It's creepy."

They kept watching. Harmony made sure none of her little clones were around, then she slipped Amy something. Amy put it in her bookbag and smiled before talking to the shoes. Then she clapped her hands and left.

"Amy!" Xander called her over.

She rolled her eyes and approached. "Xander, Willow."

"I wanted to ask you--"

"Don't even," she cut him off. "I will not cast any more love spells for you. I won't cast anymore anything for you."

"We don't want a spell." Willow said quickly.

"Good thing." Amy said, although she could tell Willow did want a spell. For Xander. She wanted him to love her the way he loved Cordelia. Okay, so not really, but she would take anything.

"We wanna know what was up with Harmony's stinky feet." Xander made a face.

Amy laughed. "Are you serious? You saw that?"

"Couldn't miss it."

Amy took an empty seat at their table. "Apparently the Ice Princess bought shoes that were too small. She paid me fifty bucks and I made them bigger for her."

"You took money for your magick?" Willow asked.

"Why not?" Amy shrugged.

"So then you're letting other people know you're a witch."

"Everyone knows I'm a witch." she said quietly. "Why shouldn't I collect off of it? Harmony and her little shadows are going to make fun of me and make me miserable as long as I'm forced to attend this institution called high school, so why shouldn't I make at least some good come out of it?"

"I feel the same way about gym class." Xander said.

Amy almost smiled at him but decided against it. After that love spell, she didn't ever want to be anything more to Xander than a friend.

"So, Amy," Willow said, a bit too anxiously. "Do you think you could tell me what it's like to really be a witch?"

"Excuse her," Xander said. "I think she got hit in the head when I was King of the School."

"You were never King of the School." Amy said.

Xander made a face. "Just crush every dream I've ever had."
