Hi guys! I have gotten my RB writing mojo back thanks to the premiere of the second season, which was absolutely wonderful?

Anyways, this is a short little conversation between Sam and Oliver after the lovely little 'can't live without you' exchange between Sam and Andy. You know you were dying to see what Shaw had to say to Sam afterwards.

Hope you all enjoy! And please review, they really do brighten my day up considerably! xx

"Are you practicing your bad cop routine for Guns and Gangs?"

"I haven't decided yet."

"What's holding you back?"

"You. Love working with you, McNally. Can't imagine my life without you in it."

The cruiser pulled away after the female rookie returned to her crowd-control post, the driver searching for a parking spot in the teeming lot, the passenger casually studying his partner's profile with a cock of his head.

"Well done, Sammy," Shaw said after a moment. "I didn't think you had it in you."

"Don't speak in circles Oliver, it's too early in the morning for me to dissect your coded bull shit."

"Wow. You're like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Proclaming your love to a fair maiden one moment and biting the head off of your partner the next. Don't take out your unresolved sexual issues on me."

Sam shot a look at Shaw as he tried to squeeze the bulky car into a compact parking spot. "I am not in love with McNally."

"Methinks thou doth protest too much."

"Shut up Shaw."

" 'Love working with you. Can't imagine my life without you in it.' You realize that's exactly what I said to Zoe during my proposal. You need to ask before you use my tricks of the trade."

"What was I supposed to say, 'You have a penchant for getting into trouble and I feel like it's my responsibility to protect you? I have no doubt McNally would've shot me instead of just walking away." He put the car in reverse, still struggling with fitting into the space.

"There are other parking spots."

"I can get into this one just fine, Oliver."

"As your best friend I'm going to ask you not to lie to me."

"I'm not lying to you. I can get into this space just fine if you can shut up for a second."

"You're in love with your rookie."

Sam's foot stepped on the acceleration with a bit too much vigor, the car jerking foward.

"Dammit Shaw! You made me chip the fucking paint!"

"Wow. I have not heard that lovely word from your mouth in quite some time."

"McNally isn't a big fan of swearing."

"You do everything McNally tells you to do?"

"This paint is coming out of your pay check."

"My pay check? You were the one that was driving."

"You were the one who was distracting me."

"You were already distracted with very bad thoughts involving you, your rook, and this car."

"Shut the fu...shut up Oliver."

"You know she's with Callaghan."

"I know."

"You know she's living with him."

"I know."

"And it's killing you, isn't it? Just say it, it's killing you."

"Alright! Alright, it's killing me. You happy, you miserable SOB?"

"You need to forget about her."

"Yeah, any other suggestions?"

"Get really drunk tonight at the Penny?"

"I like it. Let's do it."

"Poker night's coming up this weekend."

"I'm looking forward to taking your money."

"Shut up Sammy."
