Clash One: Orphans

We live to fight. We fight to survive. It's the only rule we know in the world that we live in. Our mother is gone and we don't know much about our father, except that he looks like one of us. We've been living in the Suicide Forest for almost all of our lives with our mother until she died not long ago; telling us that our father was still alive and somewhere in the outside world. We've been looking ever since.

As the sun sets on a freshly finished battlefield of a fallen army, two beings stood in the center of the mayhem, covered in blood. Neither one appeared to be injured as they silently stood among the hundreds of dead soldiers that covered the once lush, green field. Each one carried a weapon of some sorts, both covered in blood as well. The one facing away from the setting sun wielded a sword in each hand; both of the blades being black. The other one, facing towards the sun, wielded three spears in each hand.

The sword wielder had short, silver colored hair, giving her the appearance of being a male instead of a female. Her once white, short kimono, black shorts and tabi were completely soaked in the blood of her victims. Her cold and distant, yellowish gold eyes looked upon the fallen soldiers that fell prey to her and her sister's weapons unnecessarily.

The spear wielder, sister to the sword wielder, had short, dark brown almost black hair; it being shorter than her sister's. Her once black, long sleeve shirt, which showed off her midriff, white pants, leg guards and tabi were equally soaked in blood as her sister's clothes. Only one of her perfect blue eyes was open and looking towards the horizon, a sense of longing and hope for something was held within it. The other eye was closed due to a wound from a previous battle.

Just then, the sound of hoofs pounding the ground snapped the sisters out of their thoughts and made them looked toward the hill where the sound was coming from. A full army dressed in blue came riding on what appeared to be very strange looking horses. As they drew close to where the sisters stood, they suddenly stopped in their tracks.

"Why do you think they suddenly stopped, sister?" the sword wielder whispered to the spear wielder.

"I don't know," the spear wielder whispered back, looking at the army. "Maybe they stopped because they saw what we did and are probably wondering whether or not they want our heads for it."

"It has happened in the past before," the sword wielder whispered.

Two of the soldiers from the blue army came riding over towards them, the rest stayed behind. The two sisters looked toward the soldiers as they drew closer to them, both getting ready for a possible battle. One of the two soldiers was riding his horse with his arms crossed over his chest and wore a helmet with a crescent shaped emblem attached to it. The other soldier rode his horse normally.

"The one riding with his arms crossed reminds me of how you ride, Katana." the sword wielder whispered teasingly.

The spear wielder, Katana continued to look at the soldiers as she moved her foot to step on her sister's. The sword wielder merely smiled the pain away, gritting her teeth in secret as the two soldiers stopped once in front of them.

"I heard you two did this little party all by yourselves." the soldier with his arms still crossed said.

"So?" the sisters said in unison.

"Well," the man started, getting off of his horse, "if it's alright with you, I would like to have a little fun with the two of you. If you know what I mean first."

"Do you really think that you can take us on by yourself?" Katana asked, glaring at him.

"You bet!" the man said, smiling.

"Then let's start, shall we?" the sword wielder said, getting ready to fight.

The man smirked and said in a loud voice. "I'm Date Masamune! Lord of Oushuu!"

"Katana Raitingu," Katana said, getting into her stance while Date drew out his swords.

"Tsurugi Raitingu," the sword wielder, Tsurugi said, doing the same as her sister.

"Born and raised within the Suicide Forest." both said together.

Date smirked while saying, "This is going to be more fun than I thought."

The sun had set and the moon was high in the sky as the battle between Katana and Tsurugi Raitingu and Date Masamune was nearing its end. Tsurugi kept her swords clashing against Date's as Katana ran toward them. When she was close enough, she jumped on three of her spears, sending her into the air, and headed toward Date with the other set pointed at him. Tsurugi moved out of the way when Katana was close enough to Date, leaving him no chance of escape. Date looked up at her when Tsurugi jumped away. The moment he did, Katana made impact. Date's soldiers stood watching, yelling for their boss to not give up and continue fighting against all odds.

As the dust settled, Katana was the only person standing within the newly made creator. She looked disappointed and upset at the fact that somehow, Date managed to escape her attack at the last minute. Tsurugi looked around while at the ready to block an incoming attack. Katana was searching the sky for Date. She soon found him creating a ball of blue light, aiming it at….

"Tsurugi! Look out!" she cried but it was too late.

The ball that Date had created was soon released and on its way toward Tsurugi. Tsurugi managed to look at it before it hit her and knocked her unconscious.

"Tsurugi!" Katana yelled, running towards her sister's body.

She stuck her spears into the ground beside her and knelt down beside Tsurugi's body. Katana was thankful that her sister was spared from most of the attack.

"Well, I say that's the end of that." Date said, standing in front of the sisters.

"What are you going to do to us now?" Katana asked, holding her sister protectively within her arms. A few tears came to her eyes as she glared up at Date.

"Nothing to get excited about," Date said, "just going to send you two home."

"Home? What home?!" Katana yelled, "We have no home!"

"Everyone has a place that they can call home," he said.

"We have no such place!" Katana said as tears flowed down her face, "We lost that place when our mother passed. After that, we swore to each other that we would always protect one another, especially in battle!"

Katana looked toward her injured sister who was still out like a light. Date looked toward his right eyed man for help. Kojuro understood the situation and came up with an idea.

"My lord, why not ask them to join us?" he said.

"Are you out of your mind? What good can they do?!" Date yelled, "Besides, we got enough guys!"

"But more couldn't hurt, especially since they can hold their own against you, Date." Kojuro said.

Date grumbled for a moment before looking at the sisters.

"Did you hear all of that?" Date asked.

"Yes," Katana said.

"Well then, are you two coming or going?" he asked.
