"Rough night?" The boy questioned, sliding his Versace shades back in place. The subject of the matter was a 15 year old girl with certain extracurricular activities. What gave her away was the frizzy mop lying lopsided on her head. Not to mention the frosty penguin pajamas, oh, and the sloppy dark lines beneath her eyes that screamed evil. Yes, the archers' appearance was definitely the fresh out of bed look. But what was pitiful about it was the fact it was nearly 3pm. Artemis sighed in response, answering his question with a silent yes. "Why?" Robin attempted a conversation once more. The blonde shrugged as if she didn't recognize where her sleeping troubles had originated. The black haired wonder grew more and more curious as to what was going on. Surprisingly, within the time that took Richard to a wondering state, Arty complied with ease.
"Well I may be capable of concocting some type of solution…" Robin said, diagnosing her with a serios case of night terrors. Artemis pursed her lips, waiting to hear what bull crap would rumble through his lips now. "Comfort, maybe I could… I don't know… perhaps snuggle with you tonight." The serious look of a fat 'no' appeared on her face, so to maintain what bits of dignity Dick hadn't sold to Wally, he threw a "psych" in the talk. Pfft, as if he was just kidding. "But we could have a boy girl sleepover, the reassurance will drive your slumber demons away." For what may have been the first time that Artemis had spoken today, she agreed smiling. "Why not, but… how'd you get there?" "I'd Batman through,." The ward said proudly. "You're not Batman." Artemis's words couldn't even push a few clouds in front of his parade. "Again, best Batman you've got."

"That was unnecessary," spoke the arrow hoarder after the Boy Wonder flipped through the window clumsily. Trying to smooth out his acrobatic mistakes, the freshman laid down on Jades old bed. His gaze bounced off every object in Arty's room. From the dragon poster behind Artemis, to the Alice in Wonderland one beside him.
"Favorite color?" It was about time the awkward silence had been shoved out the window.
"I forget," as stupid as it sounded it was true. One day she loved blue, the next day not so much. And it wasn't that she liked all colors, because the very next day Artemis would divorce the color she had fallen in love with the previous day. She explained just that.
"White, for me." The blonde hair bearer was just struck with a soothing warmness by his dopey smile. Robin was right, this was banishing her nightly terrors. "What about…. Least favorite food?"
"Cabbage," the teen answered swiftly with genuine distaste. Richard nodded in agreement, almost trapped in many bitter memories following that dish.
"Favorite animal?" Artemis quizzed this time.
"I don't know… something nocturnal, but like a bird." Robin knew the answer to his riddle, but anything to extend the chat. He'd say he didn't know why he was being like that, but then he'd be lying. It was for them. Him and her. Dick was a mathlete, and with Artemis, 1 + 1= 3!
"Don't you mean a bat?" She said solving the verbal equation.
"No…." he dragged on.
"Goodnight." Artemis draped her comforter over her body.
A look of panic jumped onto Robin's exterior, "WHAT NO! I need to know my creature, my favorite creature."
Artemis yawned and offered an imaginary idea. "How about… Nightwing, made it up on the spot." Out of stalling ideas, the 13 year old got settled under the purple blanket. Artemis trudge out of bed to shut he window. She decided to lightly kiss Robin's forehead and dismissed their conversation with anotjer "goodnight." He returned the phrase and they both snuggled under separate sheets. Something told both of them they would sleep well. And they did.
Nightwing….
