"Once you become a Chomper, there ain't no going back" That's what Mama says anyway. She also says: "being a chomper is the worst of them all." Dad disagrees with her."Being a Wendigo is the worst and most shameful" he says. Mama has never met a Wendigo but she says she's seen Chompers and seen people lose themselves to the beast within. Thats what happens now.
The year is 3026 and the world has ended. Well not really,what really happened is that the Sun burnt out. The whole world is dark and dying slowly. The only thing keeping us alive is the green house gasses that are trapped inside our planet. Mama and Dad don't know i know this. They expect me to just be innocent but i hear them talk. i know that we're dying slowly. They say that for a ten year old i should stay innocent and youthful but no one can be a child now. We all have to grow up eventually, i just have to do it a bit sooner than everyone else did.
We only survive now because we joined some other survivors and built a camp together. Everyone plays a part. Mama cooks for everyone. She spends most her time in the kitchen. The others in the group say that her cookin' is better than their Grand mama's. Dad works with the other men to gather food and firewood to keep us full and warm. The fire is the only thing that keeps us safe. Chompers and Wendigos don't like the light. They fear it. Mama says its because it reminds them from the fires of hell where they came from.
Chompers aren't made their created, Same with Wendigos. Chompers are created when someone has already lost their sanity. and with the help of radioactive material and waste that has been released and polluted in our system of water, food and air, it transforms you, slowly. It starts by making you stay in the dark, then your fingernails grow into large claws. then, yoour teeth turn into fangs and then your body slowly and painfully transforms into the black scaly beast with a large snout and no eyes. they have razor sharp claws and are lightning fast. Once the symptoms start there's no going back.
Now, Wendigos are different. Wendigos are created when a human sinks low enough to eat another human. after doing it a few times, you start to transform at a slow rate. first it's while you sleep and then it's permanently. Wendigos are large and tall creatures that walk on their hind legs that are hooves. They have a head and antlers like a deer and in the middle of their body has bones and organs exposed. they have arms longer than their body with large claws on it. I'd never seen one before in my life, only going off of stories and descriptions until the night, one arrived at our front door.
