This is a story of what Gabrielle was thinking right before her and Xena were captured by the Romans in The Ides of March.
The Way
Come on Xena you can do this I've seen you defeat tons more people then this in the past. Gabrielle thought to herself as she watched her friend take out a small brigade of Roman soldiers. "Come on you can do it." she kept saying to herself over and over in her head.
Then out of nowhere Xena's chakram came thundering down from the heavens, hitting Xena in the back breaking it on impact. "Xena" She screamed as her friend lye on the ground unable to move as Roman soldiers began to surround her. Then almost by instinct she grabbed a spear lying nearby and threw it killing a Roman instantly. After that first shot she began fighting the Romans one after another trying to protect her best only to be captured moments later.
Once they were captured and her and Xena were together she knew her only true way was that of friendship, not the way of the warrior or of peace but of friendship.
