Glancing anxiously at his watch, Shino noted the time: two-thirty in the afternoon. He sighed, and shook his head. Knowing his lover, Kiba, he disappointingly concluded that the frisky Inuzuka would never arrive.

Why, you ask? Because the one day I decided to reserve us seats at Ichiraku Ramen, he has to be a no-show. Shinothought dejectedly. Just as he was about to exit the petite building, Kiba nonchalantly slipped through the door.

"What took you so long?" Shino inquired, "I was worried about you."

"Yeah, sorry," Kiba shrugged his broad shoulders.

"Well," Shino's voice was calm, but his eyes lit up with fury. "You're here now. We might as well order ourselves a couple bowls of ramen. You're hungry, right?" Shino motioned Kiba towards the table, only to be stopped by his lover. Shino's steely gaze softened with compassion. "Hey what's wrong?" he asked gently.

"I..." Kiba's tears choked up his voice. "I am so sorry, Shino. I know you were so excited for tonight. I royally screwed up. Please..." Tears streamed down his cheeks in narrow rivulets. Shino ran towards his beau, and wrapped his arms around his slim waist.

"Forgive yourself, Kiba," Shino cooed warmly, "It is okay. Why, you ask? Because the night is still young." A smirk donned his lips.

"Want to still have dinner, love?" Kiba inquired.

"Sure." Shino smiled cheerfully. Winking suggestively, he whispered, "And maybe some dessert afterwards."
