Ch. 1- It all started in Potions...
Hermione Granger made her way off the train. This was the start of brand new year, not just that it was also her last year at Hogwarts and she was determined to make it a good one.
She of course had made Head Girl, but was miserable about it when she found out that Draco Malfoy had received the title of Head Boy. To her relief though, the faculty decided that the Head Girl and Boy should stay in their own dorms this year. They were well aware of the rivalry between the two houses and decided that staying in their house dorms would be safer for everyone.
Of course, Harry and Ron were relieved at this news too, because they didn't feel too comfortable about Hermione living with Malfoy, that would just be too weird. Hermione was thrilled though! She may not have to deal with Malfoy at all this year, or so she thought. But as it turns out luck would not be on her side that next day in Potions...
"Hey Hermione! Get a good night's rest without Malfoy? What class do you have first?" asked Ron as he and Harry sat down by Hermione at the table for breakfast.
"Haha yeah, I have potions." Hermione replied.
"We do too! That's good." Harry answered quickly.
They walked to Potions laughing about something Neville had done at Breakfast. They hurried through the door just on time and the only three seats left were right by Draco, so Hermione was forced to sit by him as Harry and Ron hurried to the other two seats. Hermione and Draco glared at each other before turning their attention to Snape who was starting to speak.
"Class, things this year will be very different than the previous years. Since Dumbledore would like to promote unity between the houses, I will pair up the class and they will have to work on a project where they make up a new type of potion. They will turn this in at the end of the year. Ok, here are the pairings: Harry/Blaise, Ron/Pansy, Hermione/Draco,..." at which point Snape was cut off by the shouts of anger from the two Heads.
"Silence, you will do as I say, unless you want 50 points from each of your houses!" at this Hermione and Draco shut up immediately.
At the end of class, Hermione started to leave, but Draco turned her around and said, "My, my this year shall be very interesting. See you around Mudblood." at which he winked at her and left, leaving a very confused and angry Hermione behind.
