Olivia Benson sat in her bedroom curled up in a ball.

Why do I do it? she kept asking herself. My Mother? No...

Not one person except Elliot, Munch, and Fin could understand. All the things she sees day to day. All the evil, blood, hate, tears, victims.

Why do they do it? Olivia hadn't shown up for work in the last week. She had taken sick days, which she rarely did, to have time to cope. But one case turned into another and so on. Elliot had tried to contact her multiple times, same with Munch and Fin. But she remained in her little world of seclusion.

Her eyes looked around the room. Chipped, blue, painted walls, a dresser, a queen sized bed, and a picture, a picture she cherished. It had been taken at the Christmas party back in 2004. Everybody was smiling, like they didn't see the things they did, but that wasn't the truth. Every time she closed her eyes she saw a victim, dead body, or a rapist. They were forever burned in her mind.

A soft knock came from the door in her living room.

"Liv, open up, it's Elliot."

Silence.

"Please Liv, I'm worried about you." he was pleading, begging her to open the door for the first time in a week.

"I've got beer and Chinese food."

Silence.

"Fine, if I can't come in, then you are going to have to listen."

Silence, but Olivia was listening.

"Cases come and go, and we try to forget, but I know we can't."

Silence.

"Liv, please tell me what's got you so messed up, I'm worried, Fin and Munch are too, but not as much as me."

Silence.

"Liv, some cases can stay in your mind forever but we need to go on and help more people."

Silence.

"Think of the other victims that need you Liv, Munch isn't as good as talking to them as you are, he would try to bore them to death."

Silence, Elliot's attempt at humor was a complete failure. He was down to his last resort.

"I love you Olivia." Finally she got up and opened the door, facing Elliot.

"I love you too." Their lips met and fireworks went off. They knew they loved each other for a long time but never wanted to explore their feelings for fear of the consequences.

"Now, where is that beer?" Olivia asked smiling.

I had to get this out of my head. If you really like it so much review and I will add another chapter.
