One morning, Cas woke to find Dean still sleeping. The hunter was lying with his head next to Cas' chest, and one arm splayed over his waist. Usually Dean was already awake when Cas woke, and already in the kitchen making breakfast. Suddenly Cas got an idea. He carefully wiggled away from Dean's arm and went into the kitchen.
Dean kept a recipe book in one of the cabinets, and once Cas found it, he began looking for something easy to make. He settled on bacon and eggs, guessing that for a first time cook they'd probably come out all right.
He was right, and when Dean came out of the room for breakfast, he found Cas and Sam already chowing down.
"Morning sleeping beauty." Sam chuckled as Dean sat down.
"Shut up."
Sam laughed again, and Cas smiled. Finally, a reference he understood. He'd been watching Disney movies for the past week, on request of the brothers.
"Sam, I thought you were more of a pancake man." Dean commented as he shoveled eggs into his mouth.
"Uh, Dean. Cas made breakfast." Sam said, glancing at Cas, who just nodded. Dean paused.
"Seriously? Cas, that's awesome." Dean said, not wanting to say anything terribly sappy because Sam was in the room and he'd never hear the end of it. But he looked at Cas long enough for the man to smile back understandingly. They continued their breakfast in comfortable silence, thinking to themselves and listening to the tapping of the keys on Sam's laptop.
