Disclaimer: I don't own Severus Snape. He belongs to J.K. Rowling. I just borrowed him for this story. Not making a profit from this.
Author's note: I wrote this back in 2011. Au, maybe a little OOC. Read and review.
My dearest Sarah,
My heart is bleeding with every memory of you. Your hair, shining in the sun like red flames of fire, your forget-me-not blue eyes always looking at me with love and your beautiful smile that always belonged to me. Only me.
I didn't say it very often how much I love you. I know you knew, but I should have told you more often. I swore before God, to love, honour and protect you till death do us part. I didn't keep the last one. I couldn't protect you. You left me forever and I will never be able to tell you those three words that you repeated so often with love.
Why did it happen? Why did you leave me? Why, when I was happy in life at last, did destiny take everything from me? Only one second was enough, and all my dreams became dust. Why did you enter the path of the killing curse that was meant for me? Why did you sacrifice your life for mine? My heart flew to a million pieces. It has only been two days since you died, but it feels like an eternity to me. I can not live without you.
I love you and I always will, even if you are no longer here. But there is one solution to be with you again, happy forever.
With love,
Your Severus.
The letter was rolled up ever so gently before being slipped through a silver ring and placed on the table. He took a silver dagger in his hand and placed it against his left wrist. His hands trembled, but there was no way back. The cold metal bit deep into his wrist. The white sleeve of his shirt turned red with blood, his dagger dropped from his fingers, his eyes slowly closing. The last thing he heard was the clink of the dagger on the floor and his name whispered in the sweetest voice. Her voice.
He smiled and his black eyes closed forever.
