Anyone reading this might be thinking 'why is she reuploading the first chapter. Well the reason lies in why I never update anymore is because when I attempt to write this I am forcing myself to use a style I no longer use. So I am rewriting this story in style I use currently. I hope you will take the time to read the new content even if for awhile it will be a rewriting of the old.

Mariyun: Okay so I'm still new to this whole fanfiction thing so please don't kill me if this sucks*cowers behind random tiger*

Amu: For the last time they won't kill you

Mariyun: How do you know? They could be working for the fish nuggets!

Amu: What the heck are you talking about!?

Mariyun: Do the disclaimer and I'll tell you.

Amu: Fine. Mariyun does not own Shugo Chara or any of it products thank god for that.

Mariyun: I know right!

It was two years ago that one day while they were heading home Ikuto and Utau were hit by a runaway truck and died. A year later Nagihiko died after his plane crashed off the coast of Japan. It was so strange. So surreal. So heart wrenching. How do you explain what it feels to know that your friends are just dead? Gone in a heartbeat. That they died so young with so much potential?

Also, tell me how do you explain in words the feeling that comes with watching someone die?

"Tsukiyomi I assume you are aware of your duties, as of now you must guard Miss Hinamori Amu from any and all harm as her guardian," The head angel said to the younger trainee with dark hair and indigo eyes.

He nodded and spoke almost to the higher up with respect, "Yes sir, understood. I will complete my mission to the best of my abilities." He gave the head a solute and prepared for his descent.

'Hinamori Amu the name sounds familiar I wonder who she is,' Ikuto thought walking toward the gate that lead towards the living world. He unfurled his midnight colored wings standing at the edge of heaven and cautiously jumped.

Falling from heaven feels very strange. You know for a fact that you'll land safely, but you feel cautious and almost defiled. As if heaven's purity is being slowly washed away, yet it doesn't cause discomfort. No it feels almost as if you waking up from a long dream. He used the word dream because of how it described the blissfulness of heaven. Still, dreams always end.

Ikuto relaxed himself as he started leaning back to look at the night sky above him. "Wow! So this what the stars on earth look like." He had never looked at the human world from the gates of heaven. It was amazing to see those beady dots shine so brightly against the black void. You could almost reach out and touch them.

A loud piercing screech was heard as Ikuto suddenly felt himself knocked unbalanced from the left side. He plummeted a few feet before he regained control and hovered midair searching for the attacker. As he scanned the horizon he saw faintly in the distance a creature resembling a large bird with crimson eyes and sharp teeth in its beak.

Ikuto reached for the blade at his hilt quickly pulling the weapon out and charging at the demon. The creature was too fast though it attacked Ikuto's arm causing a large amount of blood to spill forth. Ikuto attacked again this time hitting the demon just barely, but not enough to kill it. The demon aimed at him again only this time Ikuto managed hurt the creature. Slicing it in two and feeling the pain of his left wing breaking from the demon's attack he began to fall rapidly to the ground with no control whatsoever.

"Damn," he muttered clutching his arm as the ground rapidly grew closer. At the same time that he was thrilled by the experience he was terrified. It was then he noticed a balcony below him.

If he could reach the balcony then he might be fine. After angling himself just right he crashed onto the veranda. He stood a moment later to assess the damage.

There a few bad scrapes from the landing overall nothing serious. He then looked at his wing and hissed. He wouldn't be able to fly for a while with this injury. The blood from the wound on his arm was still dripping blood and fair amount could be seen on his wings. Hopefully he hadn't been bitten, if he had he'd be in worse trouble. Which Ikuto apparently had.

He felt his limbs begin to grow numb as the demon's paralysis took effect. His knees buckled and he fell like a stone his body feeling heavy. It became hard to breathe and he desperately tried to take in large gulps of air. Ikuto was breaking into a cold sweat and shivering trying desperately to prepare his mind desperately for what was next.

His vision blurred and he hallucinated that a girl with rosy pink hair had approached him with an expression of both worry and joy. She was saying something, but Ikuto couldn't hear anything, but muffled noise. The whole world was upside down and shaking making him want to puke. He tried desperately to hold himself together and stave off the demon's bite.

In the end Ikuto couldn't stay conscious though. All he could do was watch as the world faded to black.

Amu wasn't sure how she ended up standing on the balcony. She had been asleep moments ago in her bed only to wake up standing on her veranda. She debated with herself about whether or not she's still dreaming. She had to be. Because, Ikuto, her Ikuto, was lying unconscious on the floor appearing like a fallen angel.

"Ikuto," she whispered, but he didn't respond. He didn't do anything except close his foggy eyes.

Amu knelt down and timidly touched his hair. It felt just like cat fur. It felt so real, but this was all just a dream. Sooner or later it would end, but until that moment comes she would go along with what her subconscious had conjured up.

He was sweating heavily and panting hard. Obviously, he needed medical help Amu carried him over to her bed, with some difficulty, and laid him down.

This dream was incredibly realistic. His wings though covered in blood many of the feathers were beautiful and soft. Grabbing the first aid kit from the closet she began dressing his wounds. How had Ikuto managed to get hurt like this?

Amu cleaned the wounds up with the first aid kit she grabbed from her closet. Ikuto still had a fever, but she doubted that would really matter since this was a dream. "Yes, this is just a dream," she sighed and slowly drifted to sleep next to the angel.

When Amu woke up she could swear she was still half-asleep since Ikuto was there fiddling around with one of her mangas. "The hell? I am I still dreaming?" she muttered noticing how her Charas, which had woken up, were staring at the angel as well. "Are you guys looking at the same thing I am?"

"If you're talking about your dead ex-boyfriend sitting in your room reading then yes. If not what are you looking at?" Miki said in hushed but sassy tone.

"Oh, good so I'm not the only one," Amu sighed, although all this did nothing to ease her growing curiosity about what was going on. Timidly Amu spoke up, "Um… excuse me… but are you real?"

Ikuto looked at Amu a bit startled, "Can you see me?"

"Let's see there's a blue-haired neko or angel... or whatever the hell you are standing in my bedroom. Yes I can see you!" she retorted back in confusion as he smiled.

"So you know of my forms then. That must mean you are aware of the guardian angels currently coming to Seiyo," Ikuto smiled, "May I ask your name?"

Why was he acting like he didn't know who she was, this was a weird dream. "I'm Amu."

"As in Hinamori Amu?" he asked and Amu gave a nod. "Then I'm in the right place! Although I was unaware that you were already informed of my arrival. Thank you for tending my wounds I'm grateful," Ikuto bowed and gave an innocent smile that didn't fit his personality.

"What is with you, I mean seriously? Did you hit your head when you fell or is my brain really messed up from something or what?" she said while trying to keep a level head. Ikuto looked at her in confusion and then felt around his head for a bump.

"No, I don't appear to have a head injury," he said and then glanced at were his wounds had been they were partially healed. "My wings though are injured and I won't be able to fly for approximately two to three weeks. I apologize for that; as a guardian I should have been more careful." All Amu could do was stare at Ikuto as he made such a moronic statement.

"Okay, I'm going to ask you a few questions. You answer them the best you can. Got it?" Amu said Ikuto nodded in agreement. "Okay first what is your name?"

"Ikuto Tsukiyomi."

"Why are you here?"

"My mission is to guard a Miss Hinamori Amu as a guardian angel from any life threatening events and to destroy any demons who attempt to harm her."

"Okay. Do you know who I am?"

"Of course! You're my charge. Hinamori Amu, fifteen years old, bearer of four Charas, currently in eighth grade, and you are a member of the student council."

"All right, how many fingers am I holding up?" Amu held up two fingers.

"That's two fingers," He replied stalely beginning to tire of these endless questions. "Is there are a point to any of this?"

"Its cause we think you've gone crazy," Ran smiled and her owner gave the pink Chara a glare.

"Well demon venom does cause you to go insane on occasion, but that's not the case," the angel said looking closer at the Chara.

He'd never seen one before and was fascinated by their appearance and nature of existence. They were beautiful creatures that were born from a branch of a human's soul. A soul within a soul. So for even on one Chara to be born the person would have to have a large soul. To have four was practically unheard of.

"Look, I'm probably just having a wacked out dream or something, but can I please wake up?" Amu sighed and plopped on the bed gaining a headache. Nothing was making any sense to her.

"The situation is very real Miss Amu. By chance were you expecting another angel?" he asked with a hint of worry that he'd done his job wrong.

"No! I wasn't expecting an angel to begin with I just want to know what's going on," Amu huffed in annoyance.

"I told you. I'm here to guard you from harm Miss Amu," Ikuto stated now growing tired of this endlessly circling conversation.

"Ikuto would you just get out of my dream!" Amu yelled. "For the love of god, you've been dead for two years! I don't need you haunting my subconscious!"

It was then the girl's words finally made sense to the angel. "Listen, you obviously think I'm someone else. This happens on occasion, but I'm not the person you think I am. But judging by how you behave," a sudden need to change from serious to sly and flirty overtook him as he said, "I'd say I look like your boyfriend."

Amu blushed vigorously, "No you don't you…just look like a friend!"

"Really? Well then human social conduct must have changed if it's okay for a teenage boy to go into a girl's room and sleep in her bed," Ikuto said leaning toward her face curious of the girl's reaction. She blushed even more and he couldn't help, but be amused by this.

"It's not like that! You were just hurt so I brought you in," she muttered under her breath.

Seconds later Amu's little sister opened the door and lunged in, "Onee-chan time for breakfast," Ami exclaimed in her six year old voice and walked right up to where Ikuto was. Amu froze and prepared for the worst, but she walked right past Ikuto without even noticing him. "Onee-chan you was talking lots in here did you and the super Charas have a fight?" Ami asked innocently.

Amu patted her sister's head, "No need to worry about that. Big sis will be down in a second." Ami skipped out with a smile walking straight through Ikuto causing Amu to stare.

Amu ordered Ikuto onto the balcony (a feat that was far easier than it should have been) and changed into her school uniform. "I take it no one can see you, but me?"

"Yes, but anyone who has been touched by an angels magic will be able to see angels," Ikuto stated simply phasing through the door.

It felt weird for Amu to be walking down stairs with a guy that, as Ikuto put it, she had put it slept with. (Not that they did anything!) She thought about what Ikuto meant that the person had to be touched by angel's magic. When had she come into contact with angel's magic? The only example she could think of would be with El. Did that even count?

Amu pondered all this and whether or not she was having a mass hallucination while eating breakfast. It didn't matter much though. If this really was a dream then she'd wake up soon. She noticed how Ikuto stole bites off of everyone's plates but no one would notice it. It appeared like he didn't exist in the eyes of everyone but the Charas and her.

As she walked to school remembered the comment regarding Ikuto's supposed forms. "Hey you're angel or something right?"

Ikuto gave her another look of confusion. Honestly, had the girl been informed of nothing regarding magic and angels? "Of course I'm angel. What else would I be?"

"Then why did you mention that you had other forms?' she asked causally.

"Angel have two bodies a physical one and a spiritual. Humans usually can only see and have a physical form, but angels are a different we have both a spiritual body and a physical body. Most of the time were spirits and humans who don't see us can't interact with us. So we take on a form that can interact with this world often an animal or an object. I'm not sure why but for some reason I can't fully transform into a human yet. I always have parts of me that resemble a cat." Ikuto explained pondering at the last few sentences.

"That makes sense I guess." They walked the rest of the way in near silence and Amu realized that Ikuto was looking at everything as if seeing it for the first time. He had a look that seeing on Ikuto was well to put it bluntly terrify. He had the world biggest non-Ikuto like grin on his face and his eyes were shinning with childlike curiosity. She shuddered at this especially when Ikuto started excitedly asking Ran what things were and how they worked.

Ikuto couldn't believe it. He'd always heard the human world was full of the different machines and items not really known to heaven. Angels had no need for things like cars or bikes. Angels don't need to eat so the food interested in him greatly as he would experience a new sense. Then there was the textures of all the new objects. The scenery was also something to behold, but at the same time it felt familiar.

Upon entering class Amu was greeted by her friends Rima and Tadase.

"Good morning Hinamori-san," Tadase greeted unable to see Ikuto.

"Morning Tadase," Amu sighed watching as Ikuto ran about the classroom till he became bored with his actions and laid on the floor.

As an angel guard duty is always awkward mostly because humans don't see you or feel your presence. It makes you jealous of those charas who at least can be seen by normal people. He let out a loud sigh just to see if anyone could notice his presence and only Amu reacted. It was odd that she could see him. Humans can only see angels if an angel gives them the ability to. Maybe she's just one of those people with the sight. He fell into an uncomfortable sleep. A faint dark aura passed by but Ikuto disregarded it as an X-Egg and went back to sleep.

From atop the school building a dark figure stood tall and proud. Evil emanated from his very being. "It seems that our important variable has finally made his debut. Well then, I guess we'll greet him," The man spoke his blood red eyes and his long onyx hair turned to a plain dull brown color. "This disguise should be enough for now." And with that he vanished like smoke in the wind.
