Chapter 1

Amy walks down the damp dark street, it is nine o'clock she is walking home from celebrating her graduation from college, and at the same time it was her birthday party for turning twenty two. The party was celebrated at a down town bowling alley with lots of cake and pizza. Just to put aside her worries she thought about calling her boyfriend to talk about her cat and about all her questions but decided she probably could not bear to speak about Toby because she loved him so much and that it would break her into tears just to talk about it. She goes to bed barely able to sleep. In the morning she has large black lines under her eyes. She walks into her living room and right on the top of her mahogany table is a note.
