And so another day begun for Mina. She heard her alarm go off and ignored it until it became too unbearable. With a groan she reluctantly opened her eyes and flipped off her plush comforter then sat up in bed with disarrayed thoughts plaguing her head. Ever since the Green Mill Fire her nightmares had subsided, but she had been getting more and more hints of quests, each one coming and going without leaving a trace. Her only lead on the quests was that they all had something related to royalty, sending a shiver down her spine. Mina slid open her nightstand's small drawer and gingerly picked up the dagger with the golden engraved word Erjad written on the side it. The dagger was only another memento of her time in the past, but the real question was, why would Teague want the dagger that caused him to become so evil? She remembered how kind he was before he turned, the surprised and pained look on his face of when he was stabbed still hung in her mind. Curiosity lingered in her mind until Charlie's familiar knock on her door woke her up.
"I'm up already Charlie" Mina grumbled and headed for the bathroom. Once she was done she opened the door to find Charlie smiling in his batman outfit with a superman cape and Woody cowboy boots. She walked down the hallway when a blur outside her bedroom window caught her eye. Letting Charlie run down the stairs she inspected her window, disappointed yet relieved to find nothing there. With a sigh of relief Mina walked out from her room and headed for the stairs until another blur whizzed by the guest bedroom next to hers. What is going on here? She thought and opened the guest room door a little more to find Teague with one knee propped up with his arm loosely hung over it along with his signature smug look. In a panicked state she attempted to hide behind the wall. Mina heard the bed creak as Teague stood up to walk towards her.
"Mina, you know you can't just hide behind a wall all the time, you've had firsthand experience. Besides if you want to play a little game of hide-and-seek be my guest, but it wouldn't be much of a game if you had nowhere to hide now would it? Your little friends wouldn't stand a chance against me" She heard the challenge in Teague's voice as he started to walk away from her.
Filled with frustration she grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pulled him back closer to her, anger filling her eyes. "Do not get my friends involved in this Teague, I'm warning you" Mina seethed through clenched teeth. She hoped she was threatening enough to save her friends, she knew all too well what he was capable of. Teague only smiled back at her.
"Oh Mina, being angry and intimidating really does look good on you, I'm scared to death right now." Teague took her hand off his collar and he held it, much to Mina's dismay, "though I do prefer the Elle Cinders attitude better, don't you think?" He let out a mocking chuckle as she tried to get away from his grip
"Teague why are you here anyway?" Mina asked, catching him off guard. She took the opportunity to pull her hand away and saw his eyes slightly darken making her feel unease.
After a long pause Teague finally responded "Have you forgotten already Mina, I want the dagger. Now where is that little keepsake of yours?" He started looking around until he saw her room and walked toward it until Mina stepped in front of him, and closed the door, her eyes never leaving him.
"Stay away Teague, you aren't welcome here. Get back to your plane where you belong" He kept walking closer until she was pinned against the door. Mina a breathe escape as Teague got a grip on her neck and leaned in.
"I'm not leaving this plane until I get what I want Mina, and the only way that's going to happen is if you willing give in."
