Unbearable and overwhelming feelings of emotion washed over Carly as she sat alone on the couch in her brand new house. Scenes from the days, weeks, and months before began to replay through her mind again. Scenes of Sonny's hurt face when he walked on her and Alcazar flooded her thoughts, the sight of Sonny and Sam making love, Sonny dragging her through the long custody battle. She felt like she was going to break. She couldn't take anything anymore. She needed something to take her mind off of her troubles. If she could just forget about it for one second she would be happy.
Her eyes then danced over to the liquor bottles that were hidden behind the cabinets in the kitchen.
"Drink. You know you want to. It will make you forget about everything." a voice whispered inside her head.
She shook her head, trying to rid herself of the tempting thoughts. She reached over and turned on the radio, finding comfort in the song that was being played.
These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time can not erase
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me
She knew that no matter how hard she tried to block Sonny out of her life she couldn't. He was a part of her, a part of her soul. Without him she wasn't whole.
Her eyelids drifted back to the cabinets containing the alcohol. Finally giving in, she slowly made her way over to the kitchen. Opening the cabinets she paused to think about what she was doing. Realizing that she had nothing to lose, and no one to care about what she did, she reached for the bottle. She quickly ripped off the top and took a huge swig.
She winced as it stung her throat but that didn't stop her. The more she drank, the less she thought about Sonny and Sam. And so, she drank her problems away.
