Ayase frowned. "What do the people of this time see in this game, anyways?"

"Maybe we're not supposed to use an ordinary bottle," Sion said thoughtfully. "There might be a type that's built specifically for this, and when you spin it fires lasers or something along those lines."

"Well, only one way to find out, right?" Domon leaned forward and gave the empty soda bottle a good spin. After roughly a minute, it stopped right in front of Ayase.

That was about when Tatsuya entered. It didn't take him too long for him to realize what was going on-- and what was supposed to happen next.

Oh, he was going to have fun with this.

"So, you three do realize what you're playing, right?" He took a seat next to Domon, slinging an arm across his teammate's broad shoulders.

"Yeah-- we heard some girls giggling over it earlier, but we couldn't figure out why they were excited about it." Domon glared at the bottle, angry that it hadn't lived up to its promise.

"So we thought if we tried it ourselves, we might understand why," Sion offered helpfully.

"But I guess this is just one of those twentieth century things," Ayase said with a shrug.

Tatsuya grinned. "Well, if you guys are interested, I could tell you how the game works."

"Could you, Tatsuya-san?" Sion smiled at him eagerly. Domon glanced at him. Ayase was trying (but failing) to look disinterested. Tatsuya's grin widened.

"The idea is this: you spin the bottle, like Domon did," he explained as he squeezed Domon's shoulders before breaking away. "And then when it stops and points to someone," he pointed to Ayase, "you kiss him."

Domon spluttered. "Y-you gotta be kidding me!"

Ayase's face darkened. "Never."

"Hey, don't yell at me. Those are the rules," Tatsuya said airily. "And they've been part of the game for as long as anyone can remember, so..."

"Well, if those are the rules I guess you should kiss Ayase-san now," Sion (who seemed to be mostly unphased by the whole thing) said to Domon.

Domon gaped at Sion, as if he had been personally betrayed. "B-but I-- I--"

Ayase snorted. "Please. Like he even knows how to kiss."

That had turned out to be the wrong thing to say. Because now Domon's face was bright red as he grabbed Ayase by the shirt, their faces centimeters apart. "I'll show you who can kiss!" And with that, he pressed his lips to Ayase's roughly, greedily.

Finally, Ayase broke off, falling back to his spot on the floor. Now it was Tatsuya's turn to gape: he'd been expecting something to happen, yes, but not quite this... intense.

"Well, that was underwhelming," Ayase broke the silence sharply. "Are you always this lousy a kisser Domon, or did the pressure of performing in public get to you?"

"What, you want me to do that again?!" Domon's eyes narrowed dangerously.

"I doubt another attempt would go any better." Ayase stood up. "Not even if you had a full stomach and we were all alone."

"Fine!" Domon bounded up so he could look Ayase in the eye. "We'll get some soba, I'll get you alone, and then I'll show you!"

Ayase grabbed his keys. "I'll start up the car. Hurry up." They let the door slam shut.

"Tatsuya-san?"

"Yes, Sion?"

"Did Ayase-san ask Domon-san on a date?" Sion paused. "And did Domon-san accept?"

Tatsuya sighed as he picked up the bottle. "Yes, but don't tell either of them that."
