'Asgard is completely different from how the movies portray it.' Yui Kusanagi thought to herself, taking in her surroundings. Instead of a golden city with a rainbow road, the dimension likened to an icy, but beautiful, wonderland.
Yui rubbed her hands together and brought them up to her mouth, warming them with her breath.
"Where could he be?" she sighed, looking around for a certain mischievous God of Fire. "He asked me to meet him here hours ago."
Yui paced back and forth a while longer, her annoyance slowly turning into worry.
"Maybe something's happen to him. I should-."
Before she could finish speaking, someone tackled her into the snow.
"Ack! Wha-? Loki, you scared me!"
Loki Laevatein grinned down at his love and kissed her nose before helping her up.
"You were walking away. I thought I told you to wait." He laughed, his infamous mischievous smirk present on his face.
Yui tried to look angry, but couldn't help but laugh at her love's antics.
"So, why did you call me out here alone? I figured you'd also invite Balder and Thor."
"Because" Loki sing-songed, wrapping his arms around Yui's waist, "I want you all for myself. I've barely seen you these past few days."
It's true. Ever since Yui agreed to live in Asgard, she's been constantly surrounded by gods and goddesses, asking this and that about humans. Not wanting to appear rude, Yui answered each and every question, while trying to ignore Loki's death glares towards the imposing parties. As a result, Loki's pranks have increased tenfold, resulting in increased hostility from the locals.
Yui smiled and rested her head against his chest, savoring his warmth.
"I'm sorry for neglecting you. I just don't want them to say I'm rude or inconsiderate behind my back."
"If they say anything bad about you, I'll give them my special candy."
And poof! A giant piece of candy covered in a skull-and-crossbones design appeared in his right hand.
"Ah! There is no need for that!" Yui snatched the lethal confection from his hand. "The other gods and goddess are already annoyed with you."
Loki just shrugged his shoulders and smiled, sticking his tongue out.
"Anyways, you didn't answer my question entirely. Why are we meeting out here?" She gestured to the abandoned landscape.
"Because I wanted to give this to you in private."
Loki summoned a small ball of fire and enclosed his hands around it. Beams of light slipped through the cracks of his fingers, causing Yui to become more and more curious.
'What is he doing?'
"There." Loki uncurled his fingers and there lay a beautiful cat pendant with fire burning from the inside, giving the necklace a warm amber glow.
Speechless, Yui took the pendent in her hands and immediately felt warmth flow threw her body.
"You always point out how chilly it is here, so this will keep you warm when I can't," Loki took the necklace and placed it around her neck, resting his hands on her shoulders. "which is stupid since I'll always be at your side."
Tears formed in Yui's eyes as she smiled and wrapped her arms around him tightly.
"I love you." She whispered, as Loki leaned down to kiss her.
"And I love you, Neko-chan."
