Hanging up the phone just after telling those words to Madison, Ephram felt like plume. There were no more burden on his shoulders anymore.
He went upstairs finding his father read a book on the sofa.
"Hey. So did you talk to her?"
"Well kind of. She wasn't there, I left a message."
"How do you feel?"
"Good. Y'know, free from burdens."
Andy smiled.
"You kept your promise." Ephram said sitting next his father.
Andy eyed his son dumbfounded. "What are you talking about?"
"I think you know it."
"Forgive me that I don't." Andy was still confused.
"You're here with me. You promised me that when we were there in New York, when I told you moving us here was the right thing to do. You promised that whenever I have felt that way again you would've been here with me. I feel exactly like that moment now and here we are."
"I will always be there for you Ephram, in good and bad times. That's a promise every father has to keep."
"Thank you, dad." Ephram said leaning on his father, embracing him. Andy hugged him back, without saying anything.
AN:This story is ended. That doesn't mean I could write a sequel...
