Life of Death
My life for which the maiden pleas
Passes by my dimming eyes
I've seen too much, done too much
Lost too much in my life of lies
To Death's shadow I bow
Though he brings eternal defeat
The Perfect Knight I shall remain
My life of sacrifice, complete
My sword binds me to this way of life
Without it no warrior can be whole
It completes me, makes me entire
That very part of my vanquished soul
My blade reflects the dying sun
My blood one with those it touched this day
"For you, Arthur, my king" I sighed
As Light slowly fades away...
My life passes by my dimming eyes
Men had pushed aside my wounded cry
No shoulder to lean on, to whisper, "Why?"
They die to live, I live to die
