The Youngest
I am the youngest of four children. Yea, its been a riot. My sister wanting to baby me, my oldest brother still thinks of me as a kid and the one brother who was my truest friend is gone and soon I will be his age, and then after that older than him.
When I was a kid, my oldest brother was already an adult, as soon as I got into double digits I became an uncle. When I was a teenager, was more responsible than my older brother when he was at that age. You see, by the time I became I full fledge teenager, both of my older brothers became cops, my dad had already been a cop for all of my life, I knew the dangers, and as a teenager, I had to worry about three family members in danger.
Don't get me wrong, it was cool to be the youngest until it wasn't. As a kid I always thought that my older brothers were so cool until I was just little kid that no one wanted hanging around.
Even until this day I am known as "the kid" to my older brother even I am a full blown New York Police Officer, a graduate of Harvard Law School and was young enough to get married, but I will always be "the kid".
I will always be the youngest of four.
