"It would surprise the hell outta me"

-----

So I definitely meant that to be sarcastic however the question preceeding my attempt at sarcasm seemed to lodge itself within my brain.

No way am I cut out for something like that! You have to be- SPIRITUAL! Ha! I don't even have faith…. Then what am I doing sitting in the office of my priest waiting for a meeting?

God only knows…

---

"I will admit Mr. Langdon, I am surprised to see you here."

Knew this was a bad idea.

"-What I meant was that I am amazed that it took you this long!"

Ok… definitely wasn't expecting that!

"Mr. Langdon, though I am not a Catholic priest I received a letter from the Pope's current Camerelango, a Cardinal Strauss… He told me to expect you to appear in my office seeking guidance. But that was almost a year ago. However, all the same, I'm glad you've decided to ask yourself this question. Now how can I help you?"

"Y- you mean that Cardinal Strauss…?"

"He sent me a letter- an actual hand-written letter on papal stationary and everything. He said that 'There may come a time when Professor Robert Langdon may come to you inquiring about Holy Orders. Please give him all due assistance.' Well Robert, I ask you again, how may I help you?"

"W- wow… I- I didn't expect this…"

"No one does."

…….

A/N: So this is sorta a vague idea for a story. If this seems remotely interesting let me know. Thanks

PS: I'm not Catholic so I'm going to model this after the Discernment Process for Holy Orders in the Episcopal Church.
