It's Time!

For the tenth time in as many minutes, he glanced up at the clock.

Ten more minutes and it would begin.

He got up from the wooden seat he was seating on and began to pace the length of the narrow hallway. He could hear the murmurs coming from the other side of the door. He could hear the shuffling as everyone made their way to their seats.

He took a deep breath and glanced at the clock again. Eight more minutes!

He began to pace again and run his hands through his hair before he reminded himself to stop.

Ginny had always reminded him how important his appearance was during times like these. He knew she would be annoyed with him when she saw his hair standing up and going every which way, but Harry couldn't help it. He was nervous.

He had thought there was nothing more he could possibly get nervous about in his life. He, Harry, had faced Lord Voldemort and created Dumbledore's Army. He had faced countless foes and been in numerous life or death situations, but yet here he was, pacing in a hallway with his heart beating out of his chest. He had never remembered being more nervous or more sure about what he was about to do.

He glanced at the clock again. Five more minutes.

His pace down the hallway quickened and his ears were pounding. He tried to take deep breaths but he couldn't focus on anything else besides what he was about to do.

He turned sharply when he heard the door at the far end of the hallway click open.

Harry saw Ron striding towards him, smoothing down the front of his dress robes. Ron's faced looked exactly how Harry felt. Nervous.

"Hey, mate." Ron gave Harry a small smile. "They are all here."

Harry glanced at the clock again. Two minutes.

"Everyone?" Harry croaked.

"Yeah, of course, everyone. No one would miss the opportunity to see the Harry Potter, chosen one extraordinaire, in this position, now would they?" He punched Harry's arm playfully.

Harry just gulped loudly in response.

"Oi, don't worry about it. Everything is going to be bloody perfect." Ron glanced at the clock. "Well looks like I best be getting back; it's time. I just wanted to wish you good luck."

He clapped Harry's shoulder one more time and exited the same way he entered.

Harry squinted at the clock; was it really time? He let out a sigh of relief. The waiting had frayed his nerves but now it was time.

He heard the grand piano begin to play a soft melody and heard the noises from the crowd begin to die down. He took one last look at the clock and flung open the side door to the church.

He saw the officiant waiting for Harry to join him so they could meet his bride together.

It was time!
