"Another thing!" Karkat ranted on, following the Knight of Time even though he was storming off down the hall. He had to rush to keep up with him, he never knew Strider had such a long…well…stride. Karkat continued to blab about what Dave had done wrong this time at dinner. Everyone had been upset over a few things and Dave had pushed some trolls into a fight, it was just not a pretty thing. Karkat was surprisingly eager to rag on him because of it. He didn't notice that Dave was slowing, that his hands were clenching into fists, and his body had started to shake from being yelled at.
It was a shock when he stopped suddenly, Karkat bounced off of his back and stumbled backwards a few paces. His talking stopped the instant Dave slowly turned towards him. His glasses had slipped down the bridge of his nose. Karkat was almost started, his eyes had started to turn red a few weeks back from his maturing, he may have felt…better about it if he knew Dave's eyes were the same color. They stared at each other, neither speaking nor backing down from the others gaze.
Dave took a step towards him and Karkat stumbled back to keep space between them. He was pretty sure that Dave was going to kill him. He began to talk quickly, saying that hurting him would do nothing in this situation, and that if he crossed a line he didn't mean it. Dave kept coming forward herding him back until he hit a wall. Karkat let out a startled sound his apologies cutting off when Striders fists slammed against the wall on either side of his head.
Dave leaned forward his fists supporting him so he did not crush the troll against the wall. Karkat cringed back expecting some sort of pain from the human. Nothing came though. He peeked at Dave, the human had paused just in front of him their noses almost touching. "Will you shut up for just one god damn minute?" Dave snarled. He was angrier then Karkat had ever seen him before.
This show of threats stirred Karkat's own explosive anger, he gave a quiet hiss at the human. Dave's fist moved back for a second before it slammed back against the wall, closer to Karkat's head this time. "That means noises to!" Both of their attitudes and rage were boiling over the air was tense and thick around them, egging at least one of them to let their anger free.
Their glares lasted until Karkat had enough. If Dave really wanted to show his hate, then he was going to make sure it was really hate. His hands pushed himself off the wall and he slammed against Dave, he stood on his toes so their mouths crashed together with the movement. Dave let out a muffled noise of shock, his sunglasses fell off from the force and clattered to the ground. Karkat's hands gripped Strider's shirt so he couldn't easily get away.
It took just a moment for Dave to push back, his hands grasping Karkat's hips to shove him back against the wall, not giving up control. Their lips mashed together in a rough manner, both trying to dominate the kiss. Dave finally shoved him back, ruining the moment in Karkat's opinion. They panted glaring at each other with flushed cheeks and narrowed eyes. "Fucking troll romance," Dave growled before slamming his lips back against Karkat's. The rough kisses, groping hands, and loud growls continued until Kanaya shooed them out of the hall so they could do whatever it is they needed to.
