Mavis was walking through the forest sad and depressed, and she sat down next to a tree. What she didn't know is that the spirit of a certain human was roaming around and as he laid his hand on Mavis, he said:
"I know how you feel. Those humans could have killed you. They only want to lure you into liking them so they could kill you faster."
As Mavis sighed depressingly, she replied solemnly:
"I understand what you're saying. Humans are nothing but trouble. I now understand why Johnathan said that humans hate monsters like… me."
"Oh come now my friend. I felt bad when my family was killed by humans. It was then that someone drowned me for the sake of monsterkind."
As the two sat together looking at the hotel in sadness, the spirit of the human smiled evilly as he convincingly said:
"Listen, Mavis. I'll tell you this: Monsters and Humans were never meant to be together. Humans have the freewill to be alive, to cherish their lives and future for the sake of their families, ancestors, and memories. Monsters want to ruin those moments, and to torment human lives no matter what the cost. For the most important thing you need to remember is this: Humans don't belong with Monsters. Will you keep those words and promise me not to tell this to anyone?"
Mavis sighed and said:
"I promise."
"And I believe I found this when you were at the party earlier." He says this when he gave her the 118th birthday gift that Dracula put in bed earlier. Mavis smiled, but she was still depressed.
"I'll tell this to no one." Then at that moment, she turned into the bat she sometimes is and flew to sit on the Hotel's ceiling. She sat there looking sad when the spirit smiled sinisterly and chuckled as he vanished from existence for now back into the underworld.
Meanwhile back in the Hotel, Dracula sighed and said to himself:
"I should have told Mavis about this earlier. I have got to see how she is." Then he decided to straighten things out with Mavis.
Thanks for reading the first (yet short) chapter of this story collection. This is a scene I wrote that takes place after the party when Johnathan is revealed to be a human, thanks to Quasimodo, but it takes place before Dracula and Mavis talked things out when it comes to Martha. The next chapter will take place shortly after Dracula says "Martha. What have I done?"
Also, Are you excited for Hotel Transylvania 3? I know I am. This story collection will be tie ins to the third installment. Have fun reading these stories. *wink*
