The Adventures of the Black Lord.
A great and terrible sorcerer, known only as the Black Lord, revealed himself before the
sorcerer world after years of secret cultivation of the Black Arts. Gathering many supporters,
worshipers, and slaves, the Black Lord made a bid to seize the entire realm of Melatropia
under his control. He initiated a reign of terror, with numerous tortures, deaths, and sufferings.
However, the opponents of the Black Lord rallied under the banners of the White Freedom
League and the White Sorcerer Goody. The Black Lord found himself hard-pressed. Needing
another powerful weapon against his enemies, the Black Lord searched in ancient manuscripts
for long-lost powers. The Black Lord discovered the magic of interstellar travel. Having
mastered the technique, the Black Lord prepared to teleport himself into the nearest spacecraft,
guide himself to an alien world, seize some alien weapon technology, and return and crush his
enemies. However, when the Black Lord preformed the spell, he found himself inside the
spaceship The Heart of Gold. The first being he met was a very depressed robot named
Marvin. Having adopted a profound despair about life, the universe, and everything after
attempting to mind control Marvin, the Black Lord found condolence in the other occupant
of The Heart of Gold, former Galactic President Zaphod Beeblebrox. Beeblebrox provided
a personally made Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster to the Black Lord, whereupon the Black Lord
became determined to become the Galaxy's foremost expert on the flaws of stunt-canaries.
With few interested in stunt-canary-flawology, the Black Lord searched throughout the Galaxy
for supporters, before being mobbed by a highly trained group of commando stunt-canaries.
Meanwhile, on Melatropia, the White Freedom League destroyed the remnants of the
departed Black Lord's supporters. Believing that the occupants of The Heart of Gold had
defeated the Black Lord, Goody invited Marvin and Zaphod Beeblebrox to join his victory
feast at Isolephia. Beeblebrox declined, on account of being too cool to be sane, but Marvin
decided on a short visit. After Marvin came and left, Goody declared himself to be the
reincarnation of the Black Lord and self-destructed the planet in despair.
