Snow White sighed and rested her head against her Prince Charming's strong chest. While she was happy at being with her true love, she was sad to leave her only friends behind. Granted she had once had friends among her maids and servants, but many of those "friends" fled when the jealous queen turned her wrath on poor Snow. The seven tiny men were her only friends in a life filled with loneliness, and now she was leaving them to go with an unknown Prince.
Sensing that something was upsetting his beloved, the prince glanced down at Snow. "What blue thoughts replace that glorious smile with a sorrowful frown?" he asked genuinely concerned. Snow White beamed at her prince to reassure him. "That's the princess I fell in love with" he said.
While the comment was meant to be comforting, Snow found herself wondering if she actually loved Prince Charming, or if he loved her only because of her looks. Snow admitted that she was beautiful. She had ebony hair as black as night, with skin as pale as a misty cloud. A light pink shade adorned her cheeks and blood red lips stood out. With eyes the color of milk chocolate, she melted the hearts of young suitors with a single look. But she hated being lovely. Her beauty had resulted in her exile from her home and the jealousy of her once loving Step-mother.
Thinking of her Step-mother brought Snow memories of when she was young. The evil queen hadn't always been evil. Before Snow's shapeliness began to show, the Queen had been caring. She treated Snow as a mother would a daughter. They went out on picnics and picked flowers to place in vases around the castle. Unfortunately all good things must end and when young men stopped calling upon the Queen and instead gazed at Snow White, she became jealous. Snow White knew that the Queen was insecure of her looks and tried to discourage the admirers, but the Queen's anger already boiled within her. Thus began Snow's treatment as a servant by her mother and her eventual flee into the comfort of the seven dwarfs' house.
With these increasingly morbid thoughts in her mind, Snow fell asleep against Prince Charming. When the pace suddenly sprang forward Snow woke with a start. "Where are we?" she asked softly.
"We are home my dear." Prince replied.
Snow peered ahead and gasped at the sight before her eyes. A shimmering castle loomed before her, much like her previous home, but on a larger scale. The towers were illuminated by the setting sun to have a golden appearance with a pink tint. The keep glowed brilliantly and the moat reflected the lights in the sky. Despite the hour people milled about waiting for their prince and his new princess.
