"I still don't understand why I have to do this," Kim muttered.
Tony sighed.
"Every agent has to have weapons training, Kim. You know that."
"But I'm going to be working with computers all day. I don't think it's very likely that I'm going to need to shoot anyone."
"Are we talking about the same CTU? Getting shot at is in the job description for every employee – I don't care if they mop the floors."
Kim rolled her eyes.
"Fine." She got into her stance and raised her gun. "Is this right?"
"Pretty much."
"What am I missing."
"Your knees are locked."
"So?"
"So someone could knock you over or shatter your kneecap. Those would both be bad things."
He walked up to her, kneeling at her side and resting his hands on one of her thighs.
"Uh…Tony? What the hell are you doing?"
"I'm trying to loosen your stance. Just focus on your aim."
"Okay."
But that was easier said than done. Kim tightened her grip on the gun, her eyes focused on the target that lay further down the range. Her mind, however, was on anything but her aim. Her entire body was consumed by the feel of Tony's hands as he slid them up and down her legs, trying to loosen her knees. It felt like her skin was on fire, and Kim desperately tried to bring her body back under control.
"Okay, now your legs are too loose," Tony muttered.
His hands went to work again, this time trying to make her stance more solid. Kim closed her eyes and willed her body to shut up, to stop responding to the feel of his fingers as they ran down her thighs and calves, but it didn't work. Finally, she sighed loudly and set down her gun along with her eye and ear guards.
"I can't do this," she stated.
Tony stood up slowly, confusion obvious on his face.
"Kim?"
"I can't do this anymore," she repeated, turning to face him.
Then, without another word, she stepped forward and kissed him soundly. Tony's eyes widened in shock, his hands automatically coming up to grab her shoulders. He had every intention of pushing her away, but then her tongue was in his mouth and he found himself dragging her body up against his. One hand tangled in her short blonde hair, while the other found its way to her waist, holding her close to him. Kim groaned as he kissed her back, sending ripples of heat through Tony's body. Propelling her backwards, he pushed her up against the wall, using his lower body to hold her there as his hands roamed over her torso.
Reluctantly, Kim pulled back, her lungs screaming for breath. Her eyes closed as she tried to calm her body, but Tony's proximity wouldn't let her come down from the high.
"Have dinner with me," he whispered suddenly.
Kim's eyes snapped open and she stared at him.
"Are you asking me out on a date?"
"Yes."
"What about my dad?"
"I don't want to take him out on a date."
She laughed at that, relaxing a little.
"You know what I mean."
"I'll deal with him later," Tony said, "if this turns into something."
"Do you think it will?"
"I hope so," he murmured, kissing her again.
