Kezia sat alone in a dark Sunnydale coffee shop. She had come so far from England but she wasn't sure what her next step should be. She slurped her hot strong expresso and savoured the strong aroma which filled the cave of a shop she had unearthed. She liked it in here, she liked the gloom, the dark and the waiter who was looking particularly tasty today she thought, unconsciously running her tongue over her pointy fangs.

But she wasn't here to feed, she was here to meet Spike. She had heard that he liked to come here sometimes. It had been a long time, she thought, almost 10 years. Obviously she hadn't changed in looks really but she had grown so much over the years, as she learned of her new vampire heritage.

As vampires go, Kezia was young. She had been a university student when she had met Spike and had been having trouble fitting in. Story of her life. She had always felt like a bit of an outsider to human life, like she wasn't meant to be there. She had no real friends she could talk to, the other people at university thought she as just a weirdo. She had always been into gothic fashions and music, and she tended to scare people off. Well, Kezia thought to herself as she admired her black lace finger-less gloves and blood red talons. I can wear what I want now.

At university she had had only one true love. That was singing. She loved singing, both in private and to an audience. That power she felt when on stage was never met by anything else while she was human. Now was a different story, she was more powerful than she could imagine, as Spike was about to find out.

Kezia had met Spike through singing, answering an advert for a singer to front a rock band and winning the place easily. Spike was the lead guitar and as soon as she saw him, she was in love, or at least she was in lust. Those dangerous, deep blue eyes, and perfect cheekbones that were so sharp they could out cut glass. It hadn't taken her long to ensnare him. She was just his type. He had been so attentive in their relationship the perfect soul mate, always considerate. Even then Spike had a tendency to mate for life and she was ready to stay with him for life. Little did she know what that would require. The secret that Spike and in fact the entire band maintained was never revealed to her. It seemed Spike's bad boy act was not just the incredibly sexy act she had believed. She should have seen it coming. He never went out during the day, she had passed this off as just him sustaining his bad-boy image.

In fact Kezia never really found out Spikes true identity until their wedding day. It was a beautiful if rather bizarre ceremony. The groom in a leather suit, the bride all in black lace, and of course the ceremony was at night-time. Her family did not attend, they didn't approve of Spike. Entering the chamber, Kezia was struck by this intense felling that something was not right there. She could feel this intense power in the room, a power she later learned to attribute to a grouping of vampires. As she walked down the passage she looked into Spike's eyes and could see the love in them. That love never changed, Kezia was sure of that, but at the time she couldn't forgive. It took her a long time to forgive his actions and realise that what he had done, he had done for her and for their relationship. Nevertheless, she had forgiven him and she was ready to carry out his plan and take his side in one of the most powerful vampire couples Sunnydale would know.
