Pickup Lines

Stella's POV

I walked around the hallway, and opened the door to the lunch room. I sat with the band, and I got out my phone. The band was at the far end of the table, so I was by myself.

I was texting Claire (my old friend from Rhode Island) when a familiar looking blonde boy sat next to me.

"Can I have directions?" he said. I stopped texting and said, "To where?"

"To your heart"

I rolled my eyes and continued to text. He coughed and decided to try again.

"I was so enchanted by your beauty that I ran into that wall over there. So I'm going to need your name and number for insurance purposes."

I tried not to laugh at the one, and I continued to text, not daring to look up.

"You'd better direct that beauty somewhere else, you'll set the carpet on fire!"

Okay that was just sad. It was even sadder that he kept going. He just would not give up.

"Do you have a Band Aid? I scraped my knee falling for you."

I reached in my bag that just happened to have a Band Aid in it, and without looking up from my phone, I gave it to him. That seemed to shut him up.

Silence.

"You're so beautiful that you made me forget my pickup line."

I said nothing.

"I was wondering if you had an extra heart, mine seems to have been stolen."

Silence.

"If you were a booger, I'd pick you first,"

I couldn't take it anymore. I had to say something. I looked up from my phone and said, "That's disgusting!" He had a funny smile on, he looked proud, Oh no, what have I done?

"Would you grab my arm so I can tell my friends I have been touched by an angel?"

I poked him. This was very entertaining.

"So are you gonna kiss me or do I have to lie to my diary?"

I didn't answer that question.

He stood up and grabbed the back of my shirt. He looked at my tag. "What are you doing!" I said.

"Yup. Made in heaven."

I rolled my eyes.

"I bet you $20 you're going to turn me down."

I started to walk away.

"Aw come on! Be unique and different and say yes!"

"Will it get you to shut up?"

He nodded in excitement. I laughed. This dude was growing on me. "Fine."

"YES! DID YOU HEAR THAT BOYS! IM TAKING STELLA YAMADA OUT ON A DATE!"

The whole lunch room stared at him. I laughed and said, "Yeah, we're going somewhere fancy, and you're paying." I patted him on the arm and walked away, him with a sad face.
