Never In My Dreams

Chapter 1

"And so we danced all night to the best song ever!" I awoke groggily to the sound of my alarm clock. Today, I Alyssa, turn the magnificent age of eighteen, what a joy.

"Alyssa, wake up, we have a surprise for you!" I hear my mom call down the hallway. Can't I just stay in bed all day, I mean really what present could be better than sleep? Finally after about 10 minutes I pull myself out of bed.

As I enter the kitchen I notice all the lights are off. Oh no, do they want me to fall for this?

"Hello?" I say very unenthusiastically.

"Surprise!" My whole family suddenly pops up from behind the counter while the lights flicker on. Ugh I am very tempted to turn around and return to the beautiful haven I call my bed. But I'm not that mean…I guess.

"Oh my gosh! Thank you guys so much!"

"We thought this would be a good way to start your big day! I mean darling you only turn 18 once right?"

"Calm down mom, it's not like I'm getting married." Wow, my mother sure is enthusiastic. Even more so then me.

"Now it's time for your present! Close your eyes and don't peak!"

So I do exactly that. I'm sure they only got me a new violin or something. But, I might as well make her happy.

"Ok, open your eyes."

Once my eyes adjust to the light I see my old lap top sitting in front of me. Ok, so not what was I was expecting.

"Um, thanks so much? I think."

"Read what's on the laptop silly."

I look at the screen and see what looks like an email.

It reads "We would like to congratulate you. For what you may ask? You have just won the chance for you and four friends to go on the tour with the one and only One Direction! You will meet up with them on Monday, October 18 in New York. We are excited to have you."

I feel like crying and screaming all at the same time. I officially have the best parents of all time.

"So do you like it?" my mom asks tentatively.

"Do I like it? Mom, no I don't like it I absolutely love it!" I see both my parents shoulders immediately relax. My mother has the biggest grin on her face.

"So, who are you going take with you?" my dad asks.

"Well, probably Hannah, Brooke, Ella and Rachel."

"But I thought Rachel didn't like them?" they both say.

"Oh I think she will survive, I mean one it's my birthday and two they are touring in Europe along with the US. I think that she can deal with it for long enough."

I was going to be with four of my closest friends on a tour bus with one direction for one year. I think I just died of ultimate fan girl shock.
