Ron crept up the stairs of the Granger Estate to a room with a piece of paper stating "Hermione's Room" on the door. He creaked the door open and stared at the mess of her room. Tissues were scattered on the floor, crumpled into balls. Several empty boxes of holiday Kleenexes lay on top of the girl's bed next to the dress she wore the Yule Ball. On top the dress was a wedding dress that Ron had seen at her sister's wedding. The one her sister told her she could wear on her wedding. It was singed around the edges, like she was trying to burn the memories away.

He turned around and saw the fire still burning with scorched letters from him on the wooden floor filled with phrases like, "I love you," and "I will always love you." The fire hissed, "Liar, liar!" Next to the opinionated flames was the girl that had caused all of this. The one he had dumped. He could still see dried tears on her face. He knew she was a heavy sleeper, so, he picked the girl up and put her on the bed. He pulled a velvet jewelry box with "KAY" imbedded on the top out of his pocket. He scratched a note in his messy scrawl on the back of a burned piece of parchment. I'm sorry, he wrote. I love you. Will you marry me? Ron.

He opened the box and a diamond ring sparkled through. He shook his head to release all of the crazy thoughts like that it had only been ten days since he had broken up with the girl and that that ring had only left him with five Sickles. It didn't matter. He wanted her back. He kissed her on the forehead and walked out of the room. He smiled as he walked out of the house in to the freezing air of Christmas Eve. He knew he had done the right thing.
