I was just sitting in the bathtub, knees to my chest, crying. Why, you may ask? Because its storming and he's not there to protect me like when I was little. I remembered running to his room after waking up in the middle of a storm and cuddling up to him.
I had no idea how long I had been in the tub when I heard the front door to my apartment burst open. I froze, waiting for the murderer to find and kill me. Then I heard a loud yell muffled by a clap of thunder. Then it came again and I understood it this time.
"Baby!" I jumped up and ran down the stairs into the living room and into the arms of him. I silently cried into his chest as he carried me up to my room. After he had stripped down to his boxers and got under the covers with me, I broke the silence.
"Derek, what are you doing here? I thought you had a date?" No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't mask the bitterness in my voice at that last sentence. He just sat there stroking my hair, letting me calm down before he spoke.
"Your more important to me then my rep. It was just like every other date; go to the movies, her cuddling up to me, me pushing her off. We got like ten minutes into the movie when the power went out. That was when I realized that it was raining. I pushed her off me and ran to my car and got here as fast as I could. I'm sorry I acted like that Liz, can you forgive me?" he finished talking and looked down at me.
"Yeah, I think I can forgive you. I love you Derek Venturi." I said sitting up and leaning over to kiss my boyfriend. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me on top of him.
"I love you too, Elisabeth McDonald. You are my world, baby doll." He said as I started to drift to sleep in his arms.
