Teddy is
"Principal Jenna," Amy said sitting across the desk from the principal, "You must have the wrong PJ. My son would never beat up on a younger child."
"Mrs. Duncan," the principal replied, "Howie Tambler is in the nurses office now with a black eye. I am telling you we have witnesses that saw PJ do this. He is suspended for the rest of the month. That is 10 days."
"Alright," Amy said

"Young man I assume there is a reason you beat up a five year old," Amy said sternly.
"DAMN RIGHT THERE IS," PJ said.
"Patrick John," Amy exclaimed, "Watch your mouth and tell me what possible reason you could have for beating up a younger child!"
"I hit that jerk," PJ said, "Because he had the nerve to hit Teddy!"
"He did? PJ are you-"
"He's been bullying her all the time and I had enough. I don't care if I get in trouble. I won't let anyone hurt my little sister!"
"PJ honey I am so proud of you," Amy said, "You're a great big brother. But the next time someone hurts your sister you don't beat up on them. Instead you tell a grown up and you let the grown up take care of it okay?"
"Okay mommy," PJ said.
Amy hugged him.
"Mommy," PJ said, "Do you love me as much as you love Teddy?"
"Of course I do," Amy said.
"But Teddy grew in your tummy," PJ said.
"And you grew in my heart," Amy said, "PJ mommy and daddy didn't think we could have kids. That's when we started to talk about adopting. We first adopted a little girl named Theodora but her birth mommy changed her mind at only 4 days. Then 3 days later the agency called and we got you. You were 8 months old and beautiful. I loved you so much and so did daddy."
"Is that how Teddy got her name," PJ asked.
"It is," Amy said.
"Mommy," PJ said.
"Yes honey?"
"Thank you for giving me a little sister."
I think PJ is adopted because he was big in the flashback where Amy and Bob brought him home… at least he looked to be 8 months old.
