Drabble: America the Beautiful (97 words)

Author's Note: I'm not a member of a livejournal community, nor have I posted pure West Wing fanfiction before, but inspiration hit after reading some of the drabbles of tww100 on livejournal.com. For those unfamiliar with the drabble: it's a one hundred word (or less) story, sometimes done in response to a challenge. When this idea popped up, I simply couldn't resist...

"He's done it. He's really done it," Josh muttered, blankly watching the Today Show commerical.

"Done what?" CJ asked, before she, too, was entranced by the screen.

Toby, passing by, poked his head in, brows furrowed. "Who's done what?"

"Sam," Josh said. "I never believed him..." He ran his fingers through his hair, distractedly, and Toby joined them, too.

Matt Lauer's face grinned from the screen. "And on Wednesday, we'll speak with former White House Deputy Communications Director and author of new bestseller Pilgrims' Pride, the story of a group of crime-fighting colonists in 1690's New England..."
