Though Red Sun Sets
Though red sun sets, no more to rise;
In darkness veils, my dimming eyes;
Though my breath flee, my dying form;
Though life-breeze leave, and blow no more;
Though all life's end, I know draws nigh,
And I be faint, and soon to die;
Still in the end, I'll steadfast fight,
Against the pow'rs, of evil's might;
When world's end come; when dark fires blaze;
When light no more, might pierce night's haze;
Lightless the fires; infernos black;
Swift death take those, who courage lack;
When through the lands, no life be found,
And shadows fey, creep o'er the ground;
Still in the end, I'll steadfast fight,
And fell that pow'r – Darkmaster's might;
Now at the last, the world now shakes;
At its foundations, starts to break;
Now that hour comes: the end of time;
But I shan't yet, sleep death sublime;
For I would give, one final try,
And one last time, I'll fate defy;
I loud and clear, defiance roar;
Though spark of life, shall be no more;
Then fiercely up, let rise my cry,
And echo thunder, through the sky;
The Darkness trembles: so great the sound!
A warrior brave, his life lays down;
Mayhap it all, will come to naught,
And all the world, to void be brought;
But still I'll fight, n this last hour,
Though truly small, may be my pow'r;
For mayhap still, by fighting on,
I might allow, new day to dawn;
But if that prove, fool's hope to be,
At least in death, hope I'll still see;
Now all the world, sees its last light;
My will – my spirit, pierce the night;
Floats sweetly through, the blinding flash,
Amid the clamor, and the crash,
Thus does your voice, now reach my ear,
As final end, draws ever near;
The words you speak, ring through my head;
They lend me strength, blot out my dread;
If I should die, yet still succeed,
Know 'twas for you, and not for me;
Now though out loud, I give no cry,
My silent roar, lights up the sky;
The shattered world, draws back once more;
Back to the way, it was before;
I feel it now, my strength grows weak;
My spirit for, the way does seek;
I see it now; Oh blessed light!
It sends me warmth, through death's cold night;
I see that you, beside me lay,
And for my life, I hear you pray;
Now as a tear, falls down your cheek,
Prithee be strong, and be not weak;
For one day soon, we'll meet again;
Over in yonder, blessed land;
And we shall take, eternal rest,
And deathless live, forever blest;
But this I know: 'tis not your time,
To welcome death, and peace sublime;
It pains me much, that we must part;
Your tears of sorrow, burn my heart;
But do not cry; with strength live on;
For you are young; your life not done;
And when at last, you close your eyes,
I shall be waiting, in the skies;
When spirit leaves, and wings its flight,
We'll meet again, in realms of light.
